  1. What's the best to seal them with Woodie? I don't want them peeling and I don't really want to bother "someone" to do them for me. Also what about a one part clear? Any suggestions? Thanks Tim
  2. I have a bunch of old Pikie Minnows for the 40's and 50's that I've striped down and am ready to repaint. I've done a lot of painting on plastic with laquer but not too much on wood. I'm trying to find out the best way to go for primer and clear coat. I''ll be using acrylic paint. I'd also like to stick with a one part clear as sometimes I only have the time to paint one bait and mixing clear for that can be a pain in the ass and a waste. Thanks Tim
  3. I've seen a few different foam bodied muskie baits out there (Hookers, Mantas, etc) and like the idea of that construction of bait. Does anyone know what kind of foam is used for it? It appears to be a very high density product. I did some searching here and came up with info on the silicone type molds but any info I've found with links they haven't worked for me. Can some one point me in right direction? Thanks Tim
  4. I'm looking for two things really. The first is a supply of good #8 and #10 Colorado blades. I need some that the paint stays on. I've got some samples from a couple places and after a day of hard fishing the paint on them is all but destroyed. I'm also looking for some pre tied bucktail hooks and sleeves. I had the name of guy from NY on my PC but had some issues and lost it. The guys made hooks and coil type sleeves pre tied with natural bucktail. I dont have to find the same guy but can anyone help me in finding either? Thanks Tim
  5. OK.....thanks. That's why I wanted to check. With anything larger than what I have I'd only be able to use every other cavity Tim
  6. I got back into doing my own jogs again this year for Walleye as well as Muskie and am looking for some painting info. Paints have come along way since I made my own years ago but I've come up with what seems like a good plan. My main problem before was getting my base coat to stick to the lead. Well I've been playing around with powder coating and it seems to work great. I've even made my own small size fluid bed which makes it even better. I am goes to use acrylics for my paints for detail work. What about a clear coat. What works well over acrylics that will hold up fairly well on jig? Thanks Tim
  7. I have two Do-it production molds for ball jigs. One is 1/2oz the 5/8oz. I also have some Matzuo Sickle hooks that work real well but I don't know what size they are. I can just barely get one to fit in each cavity without interfering with the next. They are a lot bigger them my standard 3/0 but someone told me the size I had was 3/0 and that the 4/0 are huge. Does anyone use sickle hooks and if so what size are they your using? Thanks Tim
