  1. I like to keep as simple as I can so fo now I use two tho three coats of hard as nails. So far so good But I may try D2T. MY eye stay on and the shine on jigs looks like a nice clear coat. Hawk
  2. Found it. Thanks I think I can do that. Might have some parts here at work I can use. Hawk
  3. Does anyone know where I can get the plastic blades to make this jighead? I can d mods to round jig mold to make the jig but not sure about the blade. Hawk
  4. If all you need is to take a out little ruff spots just use 600 grit sand paper. Use a paper that you can use wet and use kerosene to keep the paper from loading up. cut it in small pieces and use a small stick to control your polishing to keep off parting line. Hawk
  5. I polish and hand work mold for a living so know a little about it. You can polish aluminum but you have to be careful because its so soft you can take to much stock out real easy. You have to watch your parting lines so you don't change there location. If you do you will have to fix flash on jigs. What are you looking to fix? Its easy to polish lead jigs if its just a better finish your looking for. Hawk
  6. dO-IT mold do look like a cast tool but the cavities look like edm or sand blast finish. My buddies think I'm over doing it on my jigs but I polish my jig heads to remove gate sink and flash from parting lines. I use a brass brush on rotary tool. It gives the jig a smother finish that after powder coating looks like it already has a clear coat. I haven't had a chipping problem that i have noticed yet. One reason I polish my jigs is my football jig mold makes 4 different jigs. I have to trim off the parts I don't use for the different jigs. By no means is this a production mold but by spending time on trimming I didn't have to buy 2 more molds. Hawk
  7. Yea! I guess the best thing to do is take my mold to work and braze it with aluminum. Then I can mill and then do the hand work. Thanks Guys Hawk
  8. How hard is JB weld? (rockwell? Hard-soft steel) What i'd like to do is use to fill and then rework by hand. Hawk
  9. I bought a slider jig mold from them a few months back. Biggest peace of crap I seen in a long time. I had to rework every thing on this mold before I got A good part.Mold wasn't flat. It had a 1/16 bow in it. Parting line was off. Parting line had a bad bur the sticks the part in mold. When pulled out jig was messed up. I build molds for a living so could fix it. Unless you have allot of hands on with fixing crap I would not get one. I will never have another one. Hawk
