  1. I make my own also. Like subsailor said its not like your saving money because of the stuff you buy to make them.but rather catching a fish on something you made is part of the fun.
  2. Don't let her know Toad unless its on the old plastic?
  3. Get yourself a four jaw chuck, thats what I use and I have no problems, besides put the square wood between the centers and round them off thats how I make mine. Sounds like your a novice go to a book store and get a good wood turning book.
  4. I live in Boynton Beach, Florida. I don't buy my gear at WalMart for that reason. The place I use to shop use to sell fishing license, they have a sign up at their sporting goods counter for the for the last 8 months that the machine that prints the license is broke, and that department has shrunk to 1/4 of what it was. I have Basspro, Dicks, and Gander Mountain in the area to get my stuff plus lots of Mom & Pop bait and tackle shops to go to.
  5. I've done it with spinners and didn't any problems, as a matter of fact they seem to out better than trebles.
  6. You can get it at Bass Pro, Dicks, Gander Mountain, or at most bait and tackle stores. And if all else fails Walmart.( I don't shop there for fishing gear. )
  7. Go to any craft store they sell all kinds of material, Its up to you what ever you want to use, I've seen cotton, nylon, etc.
  8. Go with a scroll. With the round blades you can get in the small cuts plus they also have sanding blades for tight areas.

    Alabama Rig!

Catching that many fish at one time is no fun. I like the fight of the fish not pulling the bottom of the lake up.
  10. Use two pliers one is a needle nose. Hold main wire with one and put the needle nose through the eye and bend till you get it straight thats what I do.
  11. Just found a new way to fish using mini bucktails.
  12. lots of guys will work under the table also.
  13. WOW ok here go's: First of all Jann"s Netcraft has the best prices for everything. Wire size is up to you, I have three different sizes the biggest is 105 lbs. test depends what your building it for. I get the 30ft. rolls. Buy the split rings and the pliers also. Biggest treble I use is 1/0. Wire former I use is from Netcraft Tack-L-Tool. Get the kit comes with the book and wire to practice on, its only $27.99 Good luck and don't forget beads for the spinners, you'll need small ones before and after the clevis to get the blades to spin. Also go to www.tacklemaking.com for other questions you might have you may also get some ideas from it also.
  14. The only way to learn is to try to make some and if you fail at one way is too try something else. I'm still learning with nobody to show me anything its all self taught. Good luck
