Here's one of my Newer lures. I painted it yesterday. I have to finish making my Lure Spinner so I can clear coat them without it dripping to bad. I'll upload it again once I have it clear coated, I still have a little Airbrushing to do on the top and belly. Give me some Hints and Tips! Tell me what you would do to it! Thanks a ton guys. - Bryan

  3. Yep, But those 14mm's will produce some big ol' muskies (I hope). Its going to take me a little while to get the stuff to make them and then it'll take a while to actually get the hang of it. If anyone makes some 14mm (or so) eyes I'll buy a few Doz of them off of you,
  4. Well I just ordered an Master S622-L Professional Twin Pack Studio Airbrush SetFrom eBay last night, It hasn't gotten to me yet. but Ill post once I get and test it out. I read a bunch of review about it and Its suppose to be a pretty good one. It was $94 for 2 Airbrushes, 6 Bottom feed Bottles, 3 Different Needles 0.3, 0.5, 0.8mm, I think it's going to be a pretty good one, I can interchange Bottles without having to wash and clean the Paint Cup right away which I REALLY Like. I waste so much time Washing it out every time I want to change colors. It (supposedly) sprays from Hairline to 2". I'll let everyone know how it works when I get it. I hope this helped a little - Bryan
  5. Thanks for making that post. I'm going to use those and the instructions you've told me and try and put some big 14mm eyes together for my Musky Lures.
  6. hmmm. those sound like good ideas, I'm going to try them out on the next 2 I make. I guess I should ask this also, What kind of wood do most of you use? I head Hard white ceder or Pine. So far I only have 1 lure from basswood but many from balsa wood that is very soft n floats very well unfortunately. though it does work well for topwaters. Thanks a lot guys. Keep the Help and Hints coming, I still need a lot of them
  7. I would because with an Airbrush with a Fairly small cup. It might be a great Brush, But when my airbrush gets low on paint it will sometimes start spitting for a few seconds, throwing a bunch of unwanted little dots of various colors I don't know if any others will, but that might be something you want to watch out for. but then again I have a a fairly cheep Airbrush.
  8. Everyone here makes some kind of lures, But to those who sell them, Do you and Can you make a living Selling them? I've only sold a few Bucktails on e-bay so far. But they don't sell as well as I hoped they would, I mostly make Musky lures and I'm starting to make Wood Musky lures. Do any of you guys sell enough to make a decent living off of it?
  9. Yeah those eyes look really good, How long did it take you from start till dry?
  10. Yeah those eyes look really good, How long did it take you from start till dry?
  11. Does anyone know how I can Weight a lure (Jerkbait/Glide Bait)? I was using Balsa wood but I'm using more Basswood now and Its a pretty heavy piece but its still floating. on a few I took some Weights, Drilled holes and glued them in a filled it over. How would everyone Weight a Lure enough that it sinks? Thanks Guys Heres a Picture of the Lure I need help with. Its Made of Basswood. Its about 13" long, 2" or 2 1/2" High. How much weight would you put in it and how would you do it?

  13. How do you mold it? What do u use to do it? Awesome Lure, Truly a Trophy lure
  14. If I had enough Money I might buy and fish with those expensive lures. But I can barely afford to buy 20 or so $10-$20 Musky Lures. And even then it takes me a half a year or so to get them, Thats why I started making lures
  15. That is true, But It just amazing to me that someone would Spend $250+ on 1 lure and actually risk fishing with it. If it was me I probably would of Put it in a rotating Picture frame!
  16. Thanks A lot, I'm going to go out tomorrow and get the stuff I need and try to make them tomorrow. I also have another question, How do you keep Hair/Lint/Dirt & Dust from getting in the eyes? Do you put something over it to protect it? Or do you work it in a White room where you have to have full body suits, respirators and Finger prints/Eye scans????? Hah thanks a Lot, You've been very helpful. - Bryan
  17. I know this isn't about Gold baits, But I wanted to know if someone could tell me How and What I would need to Foil baits? I'll take any info. Thanks a lot guys
  18. I see a lot of people selling (Hand made) Wood Musky lures for $50+. I saw someone sell a lure for $250. It was an amazing looking lure, But it wasn't a Collectible or anything, It was Just a Great lure.
  19. Does anyone know how to make lure eyes? The only test I've done, I've made a mold out of Plaster of Paris and out of Molding Clay, I ran out of Rubber Molding, But The Molding clay works fine for now, I wanted to know if anyone had any Ideas about what to use for the eyes them self? Any hints or info would be nice
  20. To stop the Hard line from Masking tape you can- 1. Stick it on, 2. Fold back the very edge and stick it onto its self. also 3. you can stick it on, Spray LIGHT. pull back a little, Spray LIGHTER. Ect. Keep doing that over & over until the hard edge is gone. PRACTICE FIRST! It can be kinda tricky. Especially if the pants still damp Hope that helps
  21. I was at Michaels and I asked the people there about envirotex and they didn't know if it was "water proof"But I've heard great things about it. Is it something I should be Getting? Is it really waterproof?
  22. it really sold for $888.88? Why does that seem like a false Number to me? Its... very... suspicious... But yeah. I'll agree with that. I'll make one and sell it for that price! I mean... Yeaaah.. I already have one of the... Originals... Yeeeeess... Original... Starting bid $1000.00! hah.
  23. It shouldn't matter if you use flakes/glitter, U might Just have to put on an extra coat or 2 so it makes it smooth. But from all the clear coats I've used it doesn't seem to make much of a difference, like I said you just have to coat it enough times. I don't know if that will help very much, but I tried!
  24. I'm looking for someone who's selling Balsa wood blocks/Boards. Pretty much any size besides a small sheet I would be happy with. Does anyone have know of anyone or any stores that sell them? I've looked everywhere but I've only found thin boards so far. I would like a block maybe 1 foot + L, 1 foot + W, 2-4" + H. Anything bigger then that I would be interested in. Thanks a lot guys. - Bryan
  25. You could buy the 165' (or the 300 total feet') use what you need and sell it on ebay.com for just enough to make your money back. Thats what I do when I have to much inventory that I won't use.
