  1. True I am geting to the croaked stage .
  2. Just became aquainted with Chuck this year . Kept picking at him un5til he told me he had new stuff in the works . He didn't give up everything but watch for some killer baits within the next year maybe sooner . Hope to show my new craw in a couple months. Chuck is doing it . I'm still scrounging for more mad money to get the frog mold and the the rest of the LS Bugs . How much Do you get for a pint of blood these days .
  3. ATTA Boy Bob new I could count on you to take it to the next level . Thats why I post Nutty Ideas . Just for laughs and to get some imagination going . Things were getting to serious around here .
  4. I've had hot lead , hot plastic, 440 electricity shot through me and a dozen other tihngs . Lost an eye , broke my neck . The thing that hurt the worst was when my gal moved away . Pain is my friend it tells me I'm not dead yet . LOL
  5. Look around for a bake lite handle on old appliances . I think they still sell this type handle for thermos bottles . I've used it for quite a while and haven't even had to change the zip ties yet . But they slide . That is why I'll probably go to hose clamps . Just scribe both sides of the injector. Laminates always have a light and dark side . So just mark it that way . One of those electric pin scribes run around 5 bucks .
  6. I Hate wearing gloves to do anything . So while injecting my crappie baits in lue of fall , my eye fell on an old thermos bottle I had on the shelf . This thermos had a handle attached to it by zip ties . That is when a glimmer of light hit me . It looked like it would fit my injector . Yep it did . Probably change to hose clamps to hold it on . But for now here it is for grins and giggles .
  7. I've been using it on a bettle spin with a worm nose jig head . I make some large beetle spins just to fish all this flipping stuff . Oh Yea , I partially lied in my other post . I do sell tackle . not specifically plastic . I do Only custom work that nobody else wants to touch because of time , degree of difficulty ect. I also help people around the world work on there private projects . Sometimes I even get paid LOL . Then I post Another Nutty Idea now and then just for giggles or to stir the imagination . Lake Side Baits are good people I think . I definately love that mold and the bait it makes . It's going to become a part of my special project for A retired veterans medical facility that I provide free hand made tackle to .
  8. I don't sell baits so it should not be a problem . Besides They would have bigger fish to go after since Do-it has a plastic mold with the same tail called the DD Gill . I've been checking out Lake Side Baits . The owner took time to talk to me for a good while . He is a cool dude . I like him a lot . I bet if there was any question of infringement he would handle it with grace and tact .
  9. You can use Knox gellitin . Use one pack add four tablespoons of water 1/4 tsp corn starch . Mix dry stuff first them sift the dry into the pan with water stirring vigorously . Heat mixture it will thicken become milky then fairly clear at this point add a tsp of vinegar . Stirring all the time . when it reaches 240 of starts to make bubbles spoon it in to a mold or you can inject it even being thick . I would spray a little pam on your mold . some molds stick . If it looks to be too thick to work with add more water . Don't demold the bait for bout an hour or set it in the freezer for 15 minutes .
  10. Yea but they sent this with no return addy . I got some sneaky friends that like to drive me nuts sending stuff and then giggling bout it . I think it was my buddy who is loafing around in Europe or Asia . No note to who the mold maker was . Thanks Ferree
  11. Afriend of mine sent me this but he is on a trip so I got to ask who do ya think made it . Cause I've been catching fish on it .
  12. Why not just use plastisol with a lot of hardner in it . Most any mold maker should be able to machine a pre-split injection mold .
  13. Well There is one place you might not have looked for or asked about the molds you want . Had two molds done by Lakeside Baits . I have no complaint on the price or the quality of the product . I've also found some molds makers haven't laid out every mold they have to sell . There are aces in the whole now and then .
  14. Ok take 1 package knox gelatin purchased from any grocery store .. To start pour the pack into a glass container add 2oz of water stir vigorously when adding water , let stand for 5 minutes . Nuke the solution to 230 degrees . Should start to foam . Let it stand until the bubbles subside about 100 degrees . If the solution seems to thick to brush on then add another oz water .Heat again . Add food coloring to match color of thread . Brush this on hot . Put the remainder in a sealed glass jar . It will gel , youcan add a pinch of salt as a preservative . each time you use it heat again only until it becomes liquid . It is water resistant but left for a long period without ever seeing are it will become gummy on the threads .
  15. Might be interested in a trade since that has the round nose instead of those God forsaken pointy things everybody is making .
  16. Good grief . I just use the same vises I used in my boy hood . Old Herter's or Thompson vise made from cast iron . Thompson E or F , Herter's no.11 served me since 1967 . Got a brand new one on the shelf I got in case one or the other gave out . Great grand kids will probably get to use that if they all don't grow up to be couch wusses .
  17. What are you glueing ? The thread Tie ? I have a project I'm working on might turn out I can also tell you how to make a glue .
  18. Wish I had learned CNC operation 20 yrs ago . Man did I ever miss the boat . I enjoyed that video . Looking forward to more.

    Sand?

If you get a chepo hand griss mill you could probably gring the sand to powder . Don't know how long the griss mill could take that much abuse tho . If it were me I'd use glass .

    Ebay Buying

I buy on ebay occasionally . Bought a lot of hooks that had tossed in the pile a bag of 5/0 trokar hooks I could see in the pic plainly . All the hooks were out of the original packaging . When i got them all the hooks were name brand . 100 to a pack . If I had bought hooks wholesale I still could not have touched the price . in the end 15 bucks saved me 40 . Got to cut cost anywhere you find it . Then every now and then there are things we'll buy to see if someone is copying a bait . Many reasons for buying small lots .
  21. The top one looks like it came from an old Herters spiere point . Middle one looks like a European arrow head . Bottom I couldn't guess . Might look at United Kingdom molds .Especially the ones from England they are 2 piece no hinges or handles .
  22. You own to many lures when you have to have a small quadrapede with long ears carry your tackle box to the boat . Its for dang sure your name ain't Juan Valdez and you haven't been picking coffee .
  23. I don't see anything wrong with the finish . Ya might just have something there .
  24. Shame on you Mark . TEE HEEE hope I don't get caught laughing .
  25. Sure do like some of the fishing pics . wink ! wink !
