  1. Might help if the question was a tiny bit more specific .
  2. Like Bass-boys said you can use a cup . I quit pyrex and all that because now and then they shatter . I wen to the flea market bought a kiln dried fired ceramic cup with a very sharp pour spout for 2.00 , Haven't had a problem yet and the sharp spout sure helps because I'm not as steady handed as I used to be.

    Hand pour swimbait mold

What type of injection molds are you looking for . May have something .
  4. One of the best ways to sell at your leisure is to watch where tournaments are being held . Contact the administrator get permission to set up a table and banner , Remember to provide yourself some shade . As for stocking study the posts here and you can figure out what colors and what lures are selling best . Find out your local fishing forums read there posts even the wild life dept. has forums . Research is No. 1 on the list . No. 2 Is making the contacts . No 3 Before you sell anything Make sure you apply for your MFG.& Retail license . The economy is pretty ugly right now and the government is digging up bones . I got hit with some taxes from 15 yrs ago .

    Frogs

Haven't tried this but who knows , Just another nutty idea . If you have an injection mold of a frog inject it but don't move the injector off .Give it a minute or to and pull back some of the plastic if you can . Then move the injector pinch the sprue closed because there will be an opening . Pinching it should trap air and keep the plastic from pulling away from the mold sides.
  6. Thanks for the replies gentlemen . Our mom and pop stores are few and far between these days . I have to drive at least to the closest one 30 miles . That pretty much kills any profit on sales . Mailing it works fairly well but they would really prefer a one on one relationship.
  7. I have purchased several times on ebay Probably will buy again if I don't find it some place else . To make a long story short . I had a buyer that bought several Items over 5 days . I did not offer any combined shipping ect. When he contacted me I said I would cut him a discount . I took off almost half on shipping . He responded by asking how I arrived at my calculation so on and ended by saying he wasn't getting a fair discount . So I said heck with it invoiced him for less than the shipping cost me . He won his bids for .99 . I won't say the actual value of the sale products . It is embarrasment on my part . I am however waiting to see the feed back if any. I've been watching Ebay become more of a clip joint every year.
  8. Take a pair of needle nose pliers and bend the tag end of the screw that goes in the head so it will have more gripping power. I make my own screws , There is a how to posted somewhere in the forum files . I think it was under another nutty Idea.
  9. Other than Ebay . What site would my fellow tackle makers suggest for selling off out of production stock or related fishing products that are just sitting in the way. I've used Ebay twice once last year and again recently . Not going to do that again .
  10. You bet . Order from Zierners without any reserve what so ever. One if not the best folks to deal with.
  11. Need to visit some of snakeriver's posts
  12. I have a Components Systems powder air brush . They throw a lot of over spray . Unless you build a paint booth it will get everywhere . Just a table top model booth with some kind of tray so you can reclaim the powder. Painting scales ect. are not a problem If you have a good eye and a steady hand.
  13. I have made some lures for that purpose . Not exactly a spinner . They are pony heads with the spinner on the underside . Generally speaking the colors have been White , Chartruese and yellow with varying buck tail tie patterns . The weight is 3/4 , 1 oz. and 1 1/2 oz. ball bearing swivels with willow leaf blades . I don't have any blood grand children but I have several that call me paw . The background pic is a promise kept . Itold her I would show it to hundreds of people.
  14. P.M. me too , I have an incessant curiosity about anything involving the making of tackle . Of late I have reserved my oppinions about a lot of things . But I for one will never post anything reactive or negative in a ways that may or may not affect the reputation of T.U.
  15. P.M. me I can tell you how to do a laminate without all that injector tooling . Depending on the mold.
  16. Ok , bend the spoon first if possible . If that is not feasible . Here I go giving away something of a secret . You can try my process for heat curing .I call it G.H.I. Graduated Heat Increments . Heat the oven to 175 load product 15 min. increase heat 25 * each time for 15 min. until you get to 350* hold that heat for 15 more minutes . Immediately try a bend on the spoon taking care to use rubber grips or something to avoid marks . If that dosen't work we are S.O.L.
  17. Did you bake out the powder paint . Needs to be baked out for 15 minutes preheated to 350 degrees . Be sure to clean eye holes ect. first . If not it's a sure way to get chips and cracks . Also before you powder coat clean the spoons with plain old apple cider vineger gets rid of oxides and slightly etches for better adhesion.
  18. Do a search on ANOTHER NUTTY IDEA I think I posted a while back how to make your own springs . Go to Worth mfg. they have news letters you can read will tell you how to make bends with there wire former and a lot of other stuff.
  19. I can do you some spinner bait heads P.M. me if you like
  20. I think this is right 1/2 cup plastic , 1 drop white , 2 drops black , 6 drops green . Should be in the ball park . If its too dark add more plastic .
  21. Zierner's has my recommendations as well . That does not come easily!

    Palmer 393 mold

I like to build the old time stuff and I use it . Just thought there might be someone old enough to remember these and had a mold they would be willing to part with . One old geezer to another . I'd trade or purchase whatever . Thanks
  23. I'm not a big advocate of scents. However I have placed worms in a glass jar set it in the hot sun until they they became like dried fritters. The resulting goo accumilated at the bottomof the jar .That I mixed with corn oil 50 to 1 ratio with a couple drops anise oil Which I soaked the baits in . It worked as good as anything I've tried without putting it in my plastic. When I tie my jigs I yse it on the thread before I lay on the chenille . That is the only lure that contains a scent in my arsenal.
