  1. Hey Folks, I could sure use a little help with my new project. Can someone post what I need to assemble the pour spout for a presto pot. Or maybe there is a tutorial somewhere. Ihaven't spotted one yet. THANKS A LOAD FROM THE TOAD
  2. Just wanted to say HI. Thanks for joining new voices always welcome. You can never have to many friends, its a lot like fishing tackle you don't know what you got until you find it.

    Helllllp!

Acetone thins vynil paint. You can get it anywhere and its cheaper than Components Systems thinner. Which is in essence the same thing.
  4. I used a small plastic butter lid filled it with silicone smoothed it flat to the depth of the lid rim. Then I let it set up for a while until it was firming. Placed the blades in a circle pressing just hard enough to make an impression. After it dried I could turn it loaded with blades paint remove the blades by the hole lay them to dry. Clean up of excess paint on the silicone was a breeze.
  5. I posted here because I try to keep from bumping new posts that have not been up for 3 days or so. Well here I go again with another nutty Idea. I keep hearing about how hand pours are flat on one side and not 3d so to speak. After a visit to Habitat for Hunanity, (a place that takes in used building materials) I noticed a stack of ceramic tiles with numerous desighnes. It occurred to me That if I over poured my plastic mold a smidge I could place the tile on top of the mold and transfer the groove desighns to the flat side of a lure. This worked out very well. You have to trim some but its very thin and easily removed. Also the cool time is about the same.
  6. How many grubs you got total . Or is 800 the total for all colors.
  7. SOUNDS To me like you are getting dross in the tip. Are you running 500 jigs before you add and clean or flux the lead. If the lead is low it makes the tip easier to clog because unwanted particles don't as much room and tend to accumilate as the flow vortex decends toward the tip.
  8. YEA IT SUCKS Anytime any goverment bans something they plan on making money on it or its some kind of controll issue. I might not like what some Americans do but I'll fight for the moral right and your freedom to do it.
  9. I'll take the 2 big ones send me a paypal request.
  10. Maybe later Ijust got them 2 days ago. I'm not sure what I'm going to make because I've never really set out to pour plastic before. I bought them to teach retired veterans how to pour. It sort of depends on what they want.
  11. Unless docirv posted more I done bought them . I will sell or trade the drop shot molds I have.
  12. WELCOME MY FRIEND, You have just found the place to get the most sage wisdom in the universe on about every subject. Of course that dosen't count on my part.I'm a little goofy or should I say a little froggy now and then.
  13. I think it was about world war 1 that the goverment imposed the exise tax. They said it would be repealed after the war. That was quite a while back I believe. Never let the goverment give you nothing and never believe they will retract anything involving money. Be careful and pay up the feds. will pull up to your door like you were a drug lord. Guns, dark glasses and badges flashing. Am I paranoid , nope. Just experienced.
  14. The fact of the matter is , everyone has a choice hook size. It dosen't have anything to do with the fish other than the bigger the gap, the deeper the hook set. If you try to provide every hook color and style that someone may want you'll sink a lot of money into hooks. Follow the hook sizes in your mold. Use gold or nickle plated hooks in jigs ,simply because of the corrosion resistance.
  15. Many thanks my friend. I'll get right on it.
  16. I have some molds that require mustad 32798 bln hooks and some molds that require eagle claw 410 and 413 styles ,brands. does anyone know the alternate styles that will fitt.
  17. I use PVC pipe glue on some things. might give that a shot.
  18. I gave this some thought and came up with another nutty idea. I'm good at nutty ideas. Here goes. I took some scrap plexi glass cut it into squares glued it together to make a box 1 inch thick 3x3. took my dial calipers scratched off 1/2 inch squares. Then I drilled 1/4 holes where the lines intersect and a single hole in the bottom side. Epoxy in the top holes 25 4"brass tubes I cut from a box of junk tubing. By now it looks like a bed of nails. Heated up some remelt plastic dipped the rods in repeatedly until i got good thickness. Let it cool , stuck the air nozzle to the back hole blew all 25 into a box at once. STILL HAVE TO CUT THE DANG TAILS! going to hot glue some scraper razor blades together to make a multi slicer.
  19. There was a time when I was poorer than dirt. I could't even afford a buzz bait. So being the kind of kid that adapted to his situation I put a split shot on my line slid it down next to the gold hook. Then I cut a piece of cotton cloth in a triangle , hung one point of the yellow cloth off the hook jiged it for crappie. worked fine. I'd say a little color flash and presentation connected to a hungry fish is all you really need.
  20. There is one thing that has not been mentioned. The big boys have scouts that watch for a good lure made by one of use. If Its not patented It could very well surface in there product line with some minor alterations. Am I nuts NO . I know this first hand.
  21. I forgot to mention, even if I don't go there I intend to send a list of everyone that they can order baits from. I scrounged around my left over tackle making parts I have had for the last 15 yrs and built 200 assorted spinner type lures. They were sold in 2 days.
  22. Just a thought. but you might have better luck if you are willing to ship the paint . I know it's a hassel in more ways than a trip to the post office. Just my cent and 1/2.
  23. OK Guys, Every body that builds baits in Kentucky or connecting states Please drop me a short note. I may move their in the next 6 months. There is one tackle store Within forty miles other than a wallyworld and its tiny. My wife is there now visiting family and collecting data, should I want to go back into business again out there. Any response will be greatly appreciated.
  24. Me thinks this boads ill for us merry men!
