Heres some Ive built lately. Hope yall enjoy glancing at my baits as I enjoy looking at the art thats posted on here regularly. This is what I like to call a fat flat.

6. Thats the same bait style I have(diff color). Yes #1 and #2 have similarities to the GULP. Ive built a few to see if I could mimic his bait and how they run. Those are unique baits and guess thats why he had such a good following. Tournament guys around here love em. Thanks for posting the pic Littleriver and sharing your thoughts. Lee
7. I dont want the whole bait hard as a rock. I just like the hardness when CA is added(gives me a little extra piece of mind). I was just curious as to how deep the CA penetrated. Even with the thinnest CA it didnt sink in as deep as I figured it would. Everyone has there own tricks and build process. Thanks for the responses and info all you guys share. Lee
8. Mark! Those baits are thru wired. They used a thin wire. I use 19 guage stainless when I build and theirs is prob half the diameter of that. The Gulp Jim Harter sold was different than anything in the photo above. I have some and have disected some as well. Lee
9. Thanks guys for the responses. I might have to do a little investigating into how deep the ca penetrates.

Yeah. I have to click back 3 times also. Lol!

Search

Anyone else having trouble with the search function?? I tried to find some old topics on PVC. I tried pvc, baits built from pvc, etc.. It keeps sending me to the error page and telling me to type in characters with 4 letters blah blah blah. Lol! Thanks for any help. Lee
12. I usually rub my balsa baits with CA glue before I put any hardware in. The other day I built some baits and added my hardware without rubbing in the CA(brain lapse or ??? lol!). Will the wood strengthen around the hardware areas if I rub them down with CA now? By the way I use D2T for the hangers and line ties. Just curious if my hardware areas are at risk since I epoxied my hardware in before I CAed my baits. Thanks. Lee
13. None of those are Gulps. Well from what I know a Gulp to be. Search ebay for Gulp and you can see what they look like. The top one looks closer to a Gulp than any of the others.

Vacuum Former

Where did you get the punch plate from and what size are the holes etc? I found it at McMaster Carr but unsure the size of holes and spacing. Ive been unsuccessful trying to find it local. Thanks Lee

Thought about building some prop baits myself. What did you build yours from(material) and what was the hardest thing to get right(during build process)? Those baits look awesome. Glad to know you caught one using them already.

Nice job on the former and stencil. Where did you get your plastic from? And what type is it?

Some pics of baits I built and painted. In this pic on is a gable green(back one) and the other is what I like to call a flaming coach dawg. From the angle the pic was taken you cant see the white belly on the flaming coach dawg.

Epoxy

Ive used the 5 min epoxy from Hobby Lobby. It seems to work well. I only use on the lip and screw eyes when I install them. I seal my baits w/ devcon 30 min epoxy(d2t).
