    Epoxies

Are all epoxies created equal? Ive been using a 5 min epoxy to top coat some of my lures before painting. With this being said it seems I have to sand and reapply a time or two. Whats happening is Im getting bubbles(not many) and small areas seem not to have been covered(almost like it fisheyes). Am I mixing to fast, not enough or ????? The epoxy Ive been using is from the Hobby Lobby and is a in store brand I guess(not Devcon). Thanks Lee

    Your Thoughts

I have a couple of Sebile swimbaits I want to repaint. I use and currently have the old DN top coat. Well how do I top coat these lures w/ DN and not get it in the hinges and mess up the swimming action? Any help appreciated. Lee
  9. Thanks guys for your feed back and comments.
  10. When building cranks that use thru wire do yall twist your wire(to form the loop)? Or do yall loop it around and try and get the tag end as close to the main wire as possible? Do any of you guys have a preferrance/ like one method over the other? I generally twist mine.

    Vacuum Forming

Do any of yall think a 5 hp shop vac is to much for vacuum forming? Any feed back would appreciated. By the way all you guys rock. Thanks for the information shared on this site and sharing of your methods. Hope all of yall have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Lee
  13. For firetiger stripes I shape a piece the same as my lure. I xacto the lip slot and stripes. The lip slot helps me keep it lined up correctly. Use your imagination. Lee

    Foam Baits

The bait was already painted. I sanded the bait(not all the way down). I cleaned it with acetone let dry then started the painting process. I use createx paint. I did heat set the paint between coats. By the way I did have one that didnt wrinkle. Why? dont know. It was painted the same as the others. They all wrinkled in the same area(on the belly). Thanks for the feed back gents. Lee

Have any of yall had any problems painting baits made from foam? I recently repainted some cranks made of foam and everyone of them wrinkled once dipped in DN. I would like to think I done everything correct in my painting process. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks Lee
