  1. I noticed a guy was making 1 sided Beavers on one of the bait/fishing forums. I don't see why they wouldn't work well. Heck, I have caught more fish on one-sided baits than any other.
  2. I would think that they would normally be used to heat food in etc. and not something that gets to 350 degrees or more. Water boils at 212 degrees, so I doubt they would hold up like smallmouthaholic says.
  3. you really need to talk to Powerworm on here and he should be able to help you get this. He is a wizard for figuring out recipes.
  4. So it has Phthalates in it too? Why bother with buying "green" plastic if everything else that is added to it has phthatlates? Marketing ploy? I haven't given into the "green" plastic idea yet and probably won't. I wonder how many are selling "green" baits that aren't actually all that "green"?
  5. I didn't think all dipping dyes were scented. Did you google them? Also, Lurecraft sells paint for soft plastics.
  6. I have actually owned both injectors and have to say that I did like the added feature of BT's. I actually sold both of mine and went with the bigger 16 oz napa suction gun and it has a screw on tip and I really have had great luck with that set-up. Someone on here I remember did make the addition to a Bear's injector, but don't remember who it was. You might try a search.
  7. i like that mold which one is that?
  8. Yep, that is correct Frank uses beakers. Some people use pyrex on a griddle also. I have not tried it myself but read about people using pyrex on the griddle. Just be cautious if you do.
  9. oil paints yes, acrylic no (water base). Try a search, there are tons of info here on colorants. Good Luck!

    Beaver Mold

Sorry on my last post I quoted the wrong post. Try Basstackle's site for a close beaver alternative.

    Beaver Mold

There is a multicavity one on another bait forum for $450.
  12. You will find that some people say not to and some say it's okay. Yes, he has his on a griddle and you will find that several do. It's your choice, just be careful and take safety precautions.

Thank you for the nice comments. Yes, they are injected.
  14. That's part of the deal, not all of us sell the baits. If you are pouring for your own, then POP is a great way to use all kinds of baits and copy and make the colors in a specific bait that you want. I have POP molds of baits I have copied because I couldn't find the right color in the store anymore, plus I can make a ton of them! I do inject and have several CNC molds, but still have several POP molds that I really like. It's not about making money to all of us. Like others have said, if it starts to be work, I won't enjoy it anymore.
  15. I always use Bears, it is really nice stuff.
  16. Same here, don't use anything on my frogs. Worms, craws, etc. I do use oil and sometimes scent. On my tubes I used floured salt. Salt, oil and or scent I just add in the bags. Salt I do add in my plastic for certain baits tho. Nothing with water added into hot plastic. In the bag for packing? I personally wouldn't, but others may have different info. The anise I have is from Bears.
  17. I bought this injector 2 weeks ago with the intention of only using it on smaller molds, but since have bought a large multi-cavity mold that requires a larger injector. It is a 3 oz injector ( 1 oz more than Bear's small injector). It is a MUCH nicer injector than the one shown on Basstackle's site. It has the pin to keep the nozzle from coming off during injection, rubber ball handle (not plastic), heavy duty, thicker wall, etc. I will post a pic of it later today and can also email you some. This is a very high quality made injector, the best I have seen. I just need one with a larger capacity since I bought larger and more molds than I intended too. (Imagine that! lol) $50 shipped and PP fee included
  18. I can only hope that my business takes off enough to justify an expense like that. It is really a cool piece of equipment.
  19. That is an awesome lookin baiy Jesse. Try one with a colorado blade too and it will give it a lot of vibration. I use a colorado blade on a barrel swivel connected on my spinnerbait's hook and the vibration is awesome and triggers lots more strikes.
  20. That is interesting Del. Thanks!
  21. I always put mine in the oven for curing. I don't recall the temp or time, but I know that you leave the door open just a tad to let moisture out. Yes, 50/50 water and Elmers will seal them. Do it a few times and let them drain the excess off upside down so it doesn't pool in your cavities. This will give your baits a nice shiney appearance. You will know once you pour into them if they need further sealing because it will bubble up in your cavities. Check out the tutorials on making POP molds for the time/temp for curing. You want to make sure they are good and cured prior to sealing.
  22. Jim is also right, I have all my chemicals, salt, etc stored in a climate controlled area (my house).
  23. Golf tees for the POP sprues.....excellent! Thanks for the info!
