I live in Vermont where someday all plastic baits will have to be digestible and biodegradeble. The use of lead tackle is already outlawed and oil based coatings are next. This puts me in a bad situation because I want to make soft plastic lures . Is there such a product on the market for hobbyist lure makers. If so has anybody tried it yet and is a decent product. Thanks so much.
I know its a look alike lure design, but it is also my favorite lure. All were hand painted and coated with 3-4 coats of marine spar varnish. I want to change the angle of the bill for more action. I may even add rear propellers and rattles.
I just started making wooden lures a few months ago. Here is my small collection so far. I plan to make adjustments to paint and hardware after I test them out this spring. I do not have an airbrush so all were hand painted and top coated with a marine spar varnish. If they catch fish then I am going to invest in an air brush set-up. I am just having a lot of fun right now and I will be happy if I catch one fish on any of them.
