  1. Sorry for the loss of a very nice guy I had talked to Don a few times about his little Hot Rod baits and that I loved the design. He was very nice indeed and one friend on my friends list that will be truly missed. My prayers go out to his family!! Patrick
  2. You can buy canned air that connects to a paint sprayer. Its fairly cheap and is the way I first started painting up a few of my lures. It won't get near the detail of an airbrush, but is pretty fun to just tinker around with your baits to see what you come up with. Here is a link to the sprayer: http://greens-garage.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=8

  6. Gene's tutorial surely helped out my carving skills!!! He was also very helpful with any questions I had along the way. Thanks again friend!! Mark's reply pretty much covers everything else and is full of great information on bait building!!

    Green Snake!

Looks great Vic!! We officially now have snakeheads in TN!! Lol
  9. I have done a few using Husky's technique and it worked great.
  10. I use Auto Air Series 4400 Hi-Lite Interference FX airbrush paint. You can put 3-4 light coats of it on any color paint and it will leave a blue hi-lite across it. Here is a link where I purchase mine. The pic of the hi-lite blue on the link looks dark because it is sprayed over black. Sprayed over lighter colors, it leaves a ghostly blue. http://www.chicagoairbrushsupply.com/ause44gemsh46.html Here is a pic of some shads where I added the blue hi-lite across the shoulders of them. Just to give you an idea how it shows up on baits.
  11. Thanks Dan!! I hope this fish thinks that it looks Tasty to!! Lol The back changes from copper to green with certain hits of light. Thanks Ben!! A Big Thanks to Husky and Gene or I would have not known where to start!! Just lots of practice and trying different types of foil under the pics. I switched over to the gift wrapping foil on the smooth finishes. It works great!! It makes it a lot easier to hide the seams with the thin foil.
  12. Thanks Gene!! All the great help right here on TU from some great guys has surely helped my bait paintings along the way. I always try to give back whenever I can!!
  13. Thanks Coley!! We have a lake here in North MS that has some nice walleye in it. I painted this one to try to do a little winter spoonin for the walleye. Not sure how it will work, since I haven't fished for walleye before. Just thought I would give it a try.
  14. Those turned out great!! Thanks for sharing how you did them.
