    Nice paint slinging!! Looks great!!
  2. Your welcome bud!! You can buy a rotisserie motor at Walmart for around $20.00 and build your lure turner. Here is a link to give you an idea on how to build it. You can type in Lure Turner in the search feature and get lots more ideas on how you want to build it. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/21837-lure-turner/page__p__162837__hl__+lure%20+turners__fromsearch__1#entry162837

    5inch "Punker"

    Nice looking punker!!
  4. I have a 15 gallon Brute compressor, I let it fill up to 120psi and can paint all night on that. The smaller compressors will work just as well, but will kick on and off a good bit while painting. You will need a regulator, to control your psi and a moisture trap. I use Iwata airbrushes and love them, but I am sure the Paasche airbrushes will work fine. You will also need a lure turner, if you are going to clear with epoxy. Getting started, I would buy up a lot of lure blanks and pratcice, practice and practice. The more you paint, the better you will get. You can use all types of netting to make scales. You can cut stencils out of discarded milk jugs. Just cut the flat sides off of the jug and draw out the pattern you are wanting to paint, then cut out and you have a stencil. Createx and Auto Air paints are great for hardbaits. Good luck with your painting and be sure to have fun with it!! Patrick

Awesome work Bob, The WEC'S and the Shad Killers look great!!
  9. Thanks guys!! The smallies up at Pickwick love the foiled bluegill, for some reason. I painted a trap, in the same pattern and caught my biggest smallmouth to date on it( 5lbs Even). I didnt know that bluegills were a part of smallmouths diet, but I guess they are. I would like to say a Big Thanks To Husky And Gene for the photofinish technique!!
  10. I took apart an Excaliber Spitten Image topwater bait and it had the twist wire line ties. I once caught a 9lb 4oz largemouth on a popper, just like the one I took apart. So I would say it will hold up to big fish just fine. Patrick

Your welcome bud! Just giving back a little of what I have learned from others off of TU. I use 3m spray glue, if I am doing a lot of baits at one time. I use permanent glue sticks for just doing a couple of baits at a time.

Nice work, The body part looks great!! Use the handle of a small sharpie to smooth out your head area. Just be careful not to press to hard. To add all of the facial detail, I use the back side of my exacto blade, even a toothpick at times, very lightly with both. Patrick
  21. I like all three for different reasons. The devcon you can brush on three lures at a time and will be able to handle the lure in five hours or less. The etex you can brush on about 10-15 baits, at one mixing, and will be able to handle around eight hours. The automotive you will need ventilation fans, wear a respirator and some say a full body suit, when spraying. I havent used the full body suit yet, buT I am thinking about investing in one. You can look on down the hardbait post and find an Automotive post that I brought up a month or so ago, it will have a lot of great info on it. Patrick
