  1. Very well put Rowhunter!! Calling it his own idea is what bothers me also and then complaining that someones baits that look too much like his. There is a lot of guys that do photo finish baits in their line of baits, but all should give credit to TU and Husky for sharing it with everyone. Using waterslide decal imaging on baits has been around a while, yall are not the first to do it!! That is the only difference, that you use in your so called best method of photo finishing and looks better than anyones!! The Ancient Chinese Secret is out guys, do some research and you will find some guys that have used it way before yall!! Yall are still using the tutorial posted in the how to section, just applying the image in a - new to you- kind of way.
  2. What method are you talking about? Husky shared his with everyone, including you!! Will you share the method of which you speak of with the rest of the TU members? The great people of TU are all about helping others learn new things. So lets hear it!!
  3. Thanks you also Fatfingers for the Clearcoat tutorial, definately helped my issues!!
  4. Thanks Guys!! Give it a try Timbo!! Takes a good while to get the process the way you want it to look, but worth it in the end. They definately fool the fish also.
  5. Thanks Guys, I appreciate the kind words!! Thanks again Mark for the bigger size crackle help. Definately looks better than the crackle medium!! You TU guys know your stuff and are awesome for helping others!!
  6. Thanks Man!! Just trying to help others understand the photo finished technique. It was Great of Husky to share it with everyone!!
  7. Here is the pumkinseed finished with the yellow/orange belly.
  8. Diferent pic and darker shade of pumkinseed!!
  9. A Big Thanks To Husky for sharing the photo finished tutorial!!
  10. Working on some new craw patterns, havent quite got them the way I want, but getting there!! Thanks Mark for your help with the crackle !!
  11. Way to go Mark!! I saw the pic, that is a nice one. Catching it on something that you made and painted must be a great feeling.
  12. Nice fish Mark!! I love fishing poppers.

    Stormy Shad

I may have started on the wrong end
  14. Here is the bait that I did in the pumkinseed pattern using Husky's tutorial with the gift tissue and foil. It is not the same pic or same bait but simular. The rattle bait I used has a little detail, but not quite as much as the one above. I purposely sprayed the bottom edges of the photo with silver because I am going to finish it with a yellow/orange mix across the belly. Spraying the edges helps hide the seams and once blended in looks great, once done with the yellow/orange, it will match the baitfish!! I hope this helped some of you guys understand the photo finishing process!! Here is the bait that I think Mike used for his pumkinseed in the above pos: Here is the one I painted, simular but now exact, It should look better when I blend in the belly to match the baitfish;
  15. The lure can have built in additions on it. Whether its gill plates or vertical lines, you can work the pic to fit its shapes. I take the back of the xacto blade and work it into shape, I even use a toothpick at times. You just have to be careful not to tear the image, when smoothing it out. A Big Thanks to Husky for sharing this technique!! I took a great picture of a threadfin shad that I caught earlier in the year and made a bait out of it, I have whacked a ton of fish on it so far this year, I cant wait to throw it this fall. It was made following Husky's tutorial with the tissue paper and foil.
  16. Waterslide decal paper can be used but the gift tissue paper is a lot less expensive. I have started a Pumkinseed photo finish on a simular bait using the gift tissue paper and foil. I will post the results when I have it finished. Just to see what the difference might be between the two.

    Stormy Shad

Thanks Mark!! Still in the learning process myself, those scales on the small baits are a BEAR!! I started behind the gill plate and worked my way towards the tail.
  18. Big Bass Man

    Mystic Shad

Thanks Mark!! I mixed yellow and black to get that color green. A colorshift copper to green across the back. I think the heat this weekend got to my head while out in the shop, I thought up some wild colors I would have to thank Solarfal for the scaling and fins, without his tutorials I wouldnt have known where to start on either!!
  19. Your welcome bud!! That link help me out on my clear also and has some great info on it. I know what you mean by putting so much time on the lures and then the clear messes up!! 50/50 mix and stir for about 3-4 minutes with the etex. Good luck with your next batch of baits and dont forget to post some in the hard bait gallery!!A BIG SHOUT OUT TO FATFINGERS for posting the tutorial, the TU folks are great!!
