I am also wanting to try the dn I read on here that you can turn tohe can on its side put a screw in it and it stores good so i think I am going to try this. The dreft is still workin for me but like they said it is a little soft now when it gets hot.

Alright here is my.02 I was using a laquer dip that I got from homedepot and I started having a reaction to the paint with it so I started tring some differant things. I bought some of the polycrlic did not know it was not water proof until after the fact but what I have started doing is dippin two coats in the policrlic then two coat in laquer both can costed me a total of about 25 dollars and they are holding up awsome fished all day and no hook rash at all.

Make that x2 I know you have been working on gettin some new baits I am lookin forward to them I really want to my next orderr from you vanderlizer and see what all you can get me into!

Well I used the dreft and worked great then started havin trouble so I started using a polycrilic water based. So I dip twice in the poly and last coat in laquer and it turns out great!

I am tring to find where I can find some biats that look like the zara spooks? anyone have any ideals? thanks for the input in advance

Alright I am tring something new I bought some spray polyurethane that I am spraying on to make a small berrier then dipping in the laquier I will let you all know how it works in the next few days.

Hello and welcome there is alot of great people on here that will help you I am fairly new to it myself but with the help of people on here I have came along way!! Like kris said for about 100 bucks you can be in it with airbrush I use createx paint but am still searching for the right top coat! Good luck and what sight did you find those? thanks

Hey I agree totally about gettin some good baits out, so here goes I was using the cheep white spray paint from wm keep goin more expensive to now trin rustolem primmer for plastics, the heat sitting I have been doin after every coat to ensure propper seating, I have been lettin my base painted baits set for three to four days to make sure they where cured, I have even went as far as taking a primed bait and dippin it to see if the reaction is done with the base and btw out of two baits one did it one did not. The more I have been thinkin about it I am goin to try and prep my hands before I take the tape off of bill to dip I might b gettin into somethin and holdin it takin the tape off the oil or what ever is on my hands messin it up. Right now I have probally 20-30 baits that has to be stripped repainted and redone because of this. But thank all of u!

alright so what do I do to dry it faster? any ideal as to why the first I painted did good with no prep at all? Thanks for the input!

No it started before the old one stoped working. I had about two-three weeks I did not paint anything waitin on blanks to come in that is when the temp went from in the 60s to high 70s now.thanks for ur response any other ideals anyone can thank of to help would be greatful forever if I can figure this out.

Alright I think that is how you spell it, I have asked before about what is going wrong with my paint sodo u think it could be the humidity in the basment? About two months ago I started painting and dipping clearcoat crankbaits, I did 30 of them ordered more same company and evrything still the same but when I dipped in clearcoat it pulled the paint in and bubbled in places. So now I have changed bait company, sand the bait whip down with alcohol, and clearcoat did good a week ago had to buy a new airbrush and now the same problem. Anyone out there that can help, this is the only thing that I can think of besides just givin up and not do it any more, would a dehumidifier work and fix the problem? Thanks in advance bc I always get great advice here I am so glad I found this site or I would still be in the stone ages with this!

Well I am doing the heat with a hairdryer, I have not changer anything from the first baits I did they came out great I was just wonderin can laquer go bad? I have herd people say some clearcoats go bad if not stored right could this be what is happening? Can I slow down the speed of drying for the laquer could it be dring to fast? Thanks for any input just trin to get back to paintin!not fixen!

Hey I have used this on my first 30 baits had to order more baits took about two to three weeks before they came in. Alright here is my question once I started painting and dipping everything just like before but when I hang them the paint shrivels up and I can not figure it out. Change everything from cleaning bait, base paint, and still same effect. Does this go bad? My cousin paints cars and he said it sounds like it is tring to dry from inside out. I dont know but wanted to figure out what is going on.

Alright hare a while back I had a question about why my paint was doing something funny when I dip in clear coat. The first thirty baits I did came out awsome when I got the new batch I bought they was doing somthing funny so I started cleaning them then spraying them with a higher grade base paint for plastics only. Well after all this still a problem I was talkin to my cousin he paints cars and he said with a higher humitity the paint is tring to dry from out side in or the other way and it is making the paint shrink and wrinkle. Haas anyone ever had this happen before? What can I do about it? He said thinner coats but when dipping how do you get thinner coats?
