I'm all about helping others. I've helped quite a few people and I'm sure those people have helped the next guy and so on. I've even talked personally on the phone with people here and on other sites trying to get people going in the right direction. I'm referring to some of the posts on here that just seem to go in a never ending circle. Generic questions get 100 opinionated answers. If I was someone new on the forums, I would be more confused about what to do than before I started. If paint or art is truly your passion then take the time to learn your craft rather than have someone make all the choices for you.

BobP, youve done everything you possibly could to help this guy except do it for him.... devcon 30 does not completely set in 30 minutes. its temp specific just like anything else.. if its cold there.. it will still sag without a turner.. and if you dont use gloves when handling your lure, the devcon will fisheye and if you dont heat set the paint it could wrinkle the paint. so many variables and what ifs

i love how years of experience, trial and error, and money spent by other painters gets so unrespected around here. Some of the members offer so many tricks of the trade and then get no appreciaton or even told "theyre wrong". Seems that nobody wants to figure anything out on their own and just want to be told what or how to do it. The best thing you can learn from is your own personal experience.. whether its positive or negative. Obviously the positives are gonna build your confidence as a painter... and negatives are just like any other learning experience. Grow from it. Take a chance and mess up. We all have. Bottom line... get off the forum and gain your knowledge in your work station. that being said... I use the best clearcoat in the world!! end rant.

Its just the name of the game.. ive used (and talked to) SolarFall as inspiration on patterns/colors, but i try to make everything my own. I'm sure he got his ideas from anothers work.. and so on. This late in the game, its hard to re-invent the wheel. I've seen a few of my ideas that ive done with a certain "store bought" stencil be copied and done from a few well known Painters and Sellers on eBay with the exact same stencil. It's not hard to figure out certain sources of stencils, colors. Is it frustrating, a little, but what can you do? Its not worth flipping out on someone and sending nasty messages like some have (in the above posts) It's just uncommon for another painter to give props for an idea or color they saw and hijacked. The ones that do show a lot of class and humility. A high percentage of us Painters are using the same exact paint and we all know what colors are available from those brands. So it seems you keep your friends close and your enemies closer
