  3. I'm slowly figuring it out, still making "rookie" mistakes. For example. This was suppose to be pearl silver scales with white scale lines, but i sprayed the belly yellow first and didnt get the gun clean enough before adding the pearl so the scales are a pearl silvers gold. the color looks great and i'm happy with it, but its not what i was trying to do.

  5. i have a 3.5" kickin frog from bear....i do two things... 1) 2/0 with either a weedless hook as a trailer, or a treble hook with one hook cut off and the other two in the base of the legs. 2) 5/0 frog hook with the screw in the front....its almost too big for that frog. i dont remember the brand of the frog hook. its the one that comes in a 2 pack at bass pro
  6. there is a vidoe i think its on youtube were the guy uses foil and creates all types of scale patters with various things.
  7. scales look great. if you go to the hardbait how-to section all 3 of his vids are in a thread in there

  9. thanks alot ben. i have some popsicle sticks layin on my bench. the second pic is the samw bait as the first pic, it is just lit with a black light.
  10. are you thinning it with acetone? i think that may slow it down a little.
  11. i knwo some pople take the left over juice and put it in a spray bottle and just spray their baits.
  12. ok, this was first try at scales. i used a loufa. it was a bit of a pain to work with..any suggestions on easier material to work with? i also went a step further and made the bait a REAL one of a kind. you can see it in the second pic. it didnt come out as cooth as i had wanted so next time i will thin it and spray it through the airbrush. i'm really excited about it and i cant wait to get better and put some baits in the water. Please leave any suggestion, comment, thoughts...whatever. feedback is a great learning tool for me. Thanks Jesse

  18. Salmon colored crayola crayon. looks almost just like like.
  19. i just started using crankbaits and have yet to have this problem, but from watching countless bait making videos it seems that Lexan plastic seems to be a preferred choice and you shoudl be able to get it at homedepot or lowes. and depending how think you get it you coul dleave as is, or shape it to how you want.
  20. go buy the big box of crayola crayons. heat up the plastic like normal then slowly shave and mix until the desired transarency. it's what i use when i dont have a colorant. works great. and no its doesnt effect the bait in any way.
