  1. ya that straight body is basically what im looking for.... do you think if i called them and sent the one i have back and paid the difference, they would send that one out to me..?? i just ordered that skirt mold without the center hole, so it should be fine with that 5" grub.
  2. i think i got the 3" Y twin tail grub injection mold from basstackle, but the main body of the grub gets skinny towards the tip of the grub which will make it dumb to glue or weld the skirt and grub together. ill probably have to cut the bait down a little to make the two diameters equal. i think delmart has the Y twin tail grub i want but its in a 5". i dont need anything that big where i live, the bass in the lake i fish are pretty small on average. i dont know... ill probably keep it just to have it, i dont think basstackle does trades or anything that i know of. I am also thinking of using a similar grub to the twin tail, but instead of that, doing a craw type trailer for the spider grub.. this is the mold i have.... http://www.basstackle.com/Twin_Tail_Grub_Mold_p/twintailinjectiongrubmold.htm and this is what im looking for but in a smaller size.... http://www.bassfishingandcatching.com/images/2092-3.jpg there is a slight difference in the grubs..... the yamamoto one also has a slightly thicker twin tail on it to....
  3. so basically the one from basstackle that doesnt have a "center hole" would be my best bet?? i have the twin tail grub injection mold but im thinking of selling it... its not quite what im looking for...
  4. Im looking for the Yamamoto Skirt mold or very similar one..... aluminum - injected. # of cavities do not matter. I do need it injected though. Does anyone know where i can get this mold?
  5. jim i completely agree with you, i wasnt wanting to pour the exact bait. i just wanted to learn how he made a mold that exact, so when i want to get a custom swimbait mold of my own i would know how. and be kind of ahead of the game. in no way did i want to rip him off. just the general idea of these "complex" molds. just so i can better understand for myself. and i agree with u too matt. when u work as hard as you do nobody should rip you off of your design. but people will get close to a design if they like it. thats the way business is these days if something is popular. i wasnt wanting the mold put in front of me or anything. just some input on how he can make a mold that precise without any seam lines... etc. i think you guys get the drift. because i would like to have a business out here in california that i can sell baits for a living like you matt. and would like a shot at starting out with someone helping me with experience, and not starting on square 1. That way molds and baits can, yes get more complex, and better as time goes on. basically better baits quicker, for the fishing industry.
  6. i would like to just take a look at these complex molds just to see how he does it... best swimbait i have ever seen. no doubt.
  7. thanks guys, im really interested in getting a mold like that or learning the how to's on a similar swimbait. but ya thanks for the help
  8. just buy worm lubricant, it works WAY better than salt. keeps the worms soft as well. u should be able to buy some from M-F, or bears baits. Pretty sure its M-F though.
  9. anybody have any idea how to pour that swimbait or a similar swimbait? i recently just got started on pouring senkos and want to get more technical and start pouring a high end type of swimbait like that one. it was made from a guy near clear lake, ca. B. Velveck the pro fisherman is who it was made for he won a tourney on it and its by far the best swimbait i have ever seen. anyways, any ideas on if it was a simple pour or injection? any tips or ideas? feel free. this is the swimbait if anyone was woundering... http://www.outdoorproshop.com/Rago-Baits-Velvick-BV-3D-Swimbait-p/rago-velvick-3d.htm
