  1. I buy the thin foam pads at hobby lobby. Spray some craft glue on it and stick a sheet of sand paper on. It makes sanding so much easier!
  2. I live in nebraska so it's ice season now. But I began dipping plastic knockoffs a few months ago, and I have to say the gst seems to me like its hard as nails. Last week I took a lure to a local lake where the water comes out from the dam and the water is crystal clear, and about the only place to swim test lures. On about the third cast I over threw the crankbait and it smashed into the concrete spill way. I honestly thought the lure would have busted because it was only 15 degrees. There was literally no scratch on the thing. I dip kos lip and all, and they look like factory lures when finished. Last October I tried fishing a few cranks after letting them dry a couple days and had some scratches, but let them dry for a month and see how hard they get. I'm not sure during the summer what topcoat I will use, because I like to paint and fish a lure the next day. But the long winter allows for ample dry time. Sorry about the long rant!
  3. I think gst would hold up, but I never tried it!
  4. I hang a paper clip on the nose of the bait. Dip it and hang it, wipe out the rear hanger with a rolled up paper towel.
  5. Thanks for the leads, I got 100 Kvds from Barlows for 36$ shipped.

    Frogs

I use epoxy putty, solarez, or super glue!
  12. Another thought, I'm going to try and use two of the hoop sewing things to hold the loofa. Then sandwich both against the bait and stretch the loofas until they have the diamond shape then clamp the two together using plastic spring clamps. If it ever gets above freezing I will try it
  13. If you have harbor fright by you get the ss .041 wire
  14. I live in Nebraska, if I reall feel the need to cast a lure I go to my local frozen lake and cast into the drainage section behind the dam, where they let the overflow water out. It never freezes and is super clear water. However, 95% of the time my bathtub works better!
  15. I just bought some createx transparent black at hobby lobby. I'm not sure why? But I did!

    Bsi Epoxy

I use a scale to weigh it, maybe ten minutes on the 30. But the 20 min is a lot like etex, more like 20 minutes to apply it.
  17. I had gst issues at first, I realized I was not heat setting my paint long enough! I use a hair dryer.
  18. I use the blue epoxy putty from Walmart it sands easy and dries fast. I use the blue epoxy putty from Walmart it sands easy and dries fast.
  19. The tulle I've used doesn't melt. The loofa is what melts!
  20. Btw, the loofa I used melted when I heat set the lure with a hair dryer!
  21. I have yet to do that, but honestly there have been a few times when I forgot which one i put in the cup first. Lol
