    Pvc

I had previously bought my PVC from lowes. I didn't care much for it because it seemed really heavy. I bought some today from the lumber yard and it is much better, I recommend buying the actuall Azek PVC vs the other brands!
  2. Stretcher thanks for the pic! Is that the double worm hook that has been recommended to try?
  3. My thinking is to cast it past the muck and twitch it through the fishy stuff. I think if I cast it into the muck it will get caught in the junk. Guess ill just have to try it and see
  4. I have only tub tested it, but it sits nice and moves well on short pops of the line. But when I twitch it, it tips over slightly and the hook almost touches the water. I would like to fish it in mossy areas, but that may not work to well. Thanks for the replies everyone.
  5. I buy the 3x3x12", ones at hobby store, and cut it into whatever size I need.
  6. Are you saying the hook should stick out further in the back? Behind the body?
  7. Ben, it's made out of balsa. I used a 5/0 jig hook that I had laying around. I know the soft type spro and scum frog lures use the two hook methods but I can't figure a way to implemement that. It looks great, but when I twitch it, the hook swings sideways and I see it snagging weeds.
  8. I tried making a top water hard bodied frog. It floats and looks good in my bath tub but I am curious if anybody has any insight or tips on what would work better. Mainly the hook placement!
  9. Save your money, and go with epoxy, DN or Solarez! I've been down that road.
  10. It will probably turn brown when exposed to uv rays! Just my opinion though

  12. Whoops I was trying to post a link to harbor freight scale. It's $11.99 and works good for me
  13. It's back to speed on my end, thank Jerry!
  14. I have some, they do sink. There is a belly weight right behind the bill. I just use a drill bit and drill out the weight. And fill the hole with epoxy putty. They swim good though!
  15. I use different epoxy, but I use bob smiths which is similar. Yes, it globs up quickly, but you can add a couple drops of denatured alchohol to help. I clear coat right after I paint and use blow dryer to dry it!
  16. Thanks, it seems to be running good, knock on wood!
  17. Nice! Got my fingers crossed.
  18. DN is really rough to store. I put it in a mason jar and spray bloxygen in it after I use it, and still have issues! Also when you dip a lure into it you have to remove the lure ASAP and not let any drips fall back into the jar. There is a lot of waste involved with DN. it really looks good but a pita, I prefer solarez for the ease of use!
  19. I just cut the side of a 2x4. Then use a roofing square to make sure it's 90 deg
  20. Also, the thinner you put it on the better it looks. If dipping it seems like the longer it hangs, the better it looks
  21. I tried it on foil too, with the same results! It is not really clear, but it looks better on lures. I just dont like it on black lures, because the waxy look really stands out more. But bright colors I barely notice the waxy look.
  22. Dries in 2-3 minutes in the nail dryer! Have not tried the 18" light
  23. I ain't no expert but here is what I would start with. Blanks from unpaintedlures.com , paint from hobby lobby(createx). Airbrush from hobby lobby, balsa from hobby lobby, lips from jannsnetcraft(circuit board). And etex epoxy from hobby lobby. Use the 40% off coupon at hobby lobby.com
