    Recipe Needed

    Just say the name!
  2. I bought and still use a cheap Tool Shop press from Menards. And I would not recommend it for precision work. I use it, and have for 6 years, but I would recommend going with a name brand for precision.

    Rapala Blanks

Predator bass baits, are pretty dang good.
  4. I use a black fine point sharpie. Just dry it with a blow dryer before coating. I also use etex and it will not run, but don't thin it with DA or it will.
  5. I am new to painting, I am curious what the deal is with opaque and translucent colors. How are they different than regular paint. I am looking at createx colors, and wondering if I should try them. Thanks Rob
  6. Just to clarify, my buddy wants to use just a single hook. Not a treble.
  7. That's some good info right there, it would be a dream come true to learn from them, how to make plugs!
  8. First off, great looking lure. A couple observations from a newbie. I would put the balast right where your thumb is. And second, I think it works best to screw your line tie hanger, straight into the body. An with your angle for your lip you will have a difficult time doing that. You may hae to cut out a notch on your lip to allow the screw eye to pass. Good bait though.
  9. What is the benefit of this tool? I am guessing it is just smaller, and easier to use on small baits? Rob

diemai, great looking lure. would love a video, you do amazing work!
  11. I am new to this, like so new I have never even used a swim bait! But isn't a swim bait made with two or more sections? The top lure looks like a jerk bait, to me. But I may be way off here. Rob
  12. I bought the Oreileys dupont automotive clear last week. It was horrble, way too soft, I would stick with d2t.
  13. Thanks for the compliments. I started filming and filmed the whole process, it took 28 minutes of video to make. It took longer to edit the footage. Lol
  14. The most accurate way to measure epoxy is syringes. I use etex, and have tried syringes, but they are a pain. I now use a digital scale and just weigh equal parts. However last night I noticed my hardener bottle is much lower than my resin bottle. But, all my lures have been getting a hard clear coat so I will keep doing it this way. And live with a littleextra resin. Rob
  15. Thanks for the help everyone. An aquaintance of mine has been experimenting with some single hooks on store bought cranks. So I offered to make him a few with just the front hanger, and turning it sideways. I also will probably put the hanger a little bit further back on the belly than a normal lure. Rob
  16. I get wrinkles in mine too, I think I need to let the glue dry longer. And I also hink the hair dryer mkes the wrinklesworse.
  17. I am using creatix, anitas, and folk art water based paints. Rob
  18. Good looking baits, glad everything worked out with the stencils.
  19. Thanks for the tips, I have an Iwata Neo. It is a top feed gravity style brush. I can see paint in the bottom of the bowl even after I back flush and run acetone through it. Is this normal?
  20. Thanks to all the member on TU for their help. This is how I make a pvc crank.
  21. What do you guys use to clean, between colors? I have been using water then back fush, water again and backflush. Black is darn near impossible to get out. Rob
