That same day I had one huge pike/muskie grab it but shook the hooks out on the first thrash. Cant wait to find more of these!! Frog pattern=hammertime i bet for bass!

  10. Hey I did a spraypaint step-by-step tutorial that may help you with paint steps. You'll have to seal the wood first.(but i dont do bare wood cranks so i cant help you there) Heres the link to the tutorial: http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/22499-lure-painting-tutorial-froggy-pattern/page__p__168062#entry168062

    glitter jack pike

    Thats an awesome looking bait!
  14. Thanks for the comments! I think this bait is going to crush smallmouth bass in our area. Bass season opens this weekend so we'll see!
  15. Thanks for all the info mark! Right now i only repaint lures like rapala's and mostly other hard plastic baits.(some of the rapalas are balsa of course) I'll look into the target finishes for sure, as i want my finishes to be as durable as possible.

    lucky frog natural

That looks awesome for bass for sure!!
  17. When i first joined the site i spent hours fishing through the first 100 pages of topics reading what seemed like every other one....there is a wealth of information here, especially on topcoats. I did come across one pretty nice detailed E-tex tutorial on another site. http://striped-bass.com/striper-fishing/index.php/articles/lure-building/54-mr-pogies-epoxy-plug-finishing-applying-envirotex Mark- how does your finish hold up to toothy fish like pike, muskie? (i see you are from the west coast, so you might not have too many toothy fish?)
  18. Thats a similar issue to the one i was having using IE version ?8 maybe?. In the bottom left there is a dropdown menu. I set it to IPboard and mine works well now in Overview...detailed view cuts out some pics.
  19. Dont be sorry...its great to see an administrator explain things in detail!! Is it feasible to take a pic from the url and store it automatically?
  20. If the gallery could copy URL, that would be absolutely perfect!! Thanks again.
  21. Hey thanks for the great reply Jerry. I do see what you are saying for sure. You are very right in saying that TU is the most organized and concise and well structured tackle making site, it is for sure. As for the showcase forum i think it would be great to have one in addition to the gallery(not instead of). Some guys would prefer the threads some the gallery. If TU was the only place i put up pics of the lures i paint the gallery would be all I need for sure, but using a couple of different sites makes me have to do everything twice(which isnt a big deal, but on dial-up it takes forever to upload pics) If the rules were different here and i could link out my images from Its also very easy to transfer threads from site to site with img tags. If you used img tags the pics would be directly visible on the thread as it loads.(only direct link would you have to click the link to view the pic). Maybe there could be a one thread per member limit in the showcase category to eliminate the 20 pics one lure threads. If members could edit their first posts, you could continually add pics in the thread. I do understand what you mean by the preservation of the pics. I have been using photobucket for years now and i have never had a problem, but you never know...i always keep my all of my pics backed up anyways, but no doubt many dont. I did not realize that photobucket limits bandwidth...i guess my pics are not very popular. (and the comments on my lures in the gallery prove it...lol)
  22. Thanks for the link...the local walmart and canadian tire carry krylon, but i dont recall seeing the glowz line...i might have to see if they can get it ordered in.
  23. Sorry if i am out of line but why can we not post pics in a thread? Even another thread showcase category would keep it seperate from informative threads. Being on dial-up its much easier for me to upload pics to photobucket and hotlink host them from there, and it gives the site more space so its cheaper for administrators to run the site.
  24. I have a Campbell Hausfeld 3/4 hp 3 gallon compressor but the points are screwed up in it and i have no idea how to fix them....i might try to fix that before persuing a new one.
  25. The on hula popper has a black belly that fades into yellow sides that fade into a white back with a touch of flourescent green. Up here in northern ontario we dont have ace hardware stores, but we have walmart, canadian tire, home deopt and rona....one should have it.
