  1. 115-776 item at the MuskyShop.com ..060" 12" long $5.99 per 12. The .060" does not have a loop end. Musky Glenn
  2. The swivels from lure parts on line seem to hold nicely.
  3. I believe piano wire will rust. Lurepartsonline.com has .062" stainless, 95ft. coil for $29.99. page 68 new book. Like Cadman said, Mcmasters has 91 feet of .064" coil for $12.44. Big difference if it is same stainless. I don't know my wires that well.
  4. I lean the mold back about 45 degrees and the swivels will lay in place.
  5. They have added a large section on fly tying materials.

    Suick?

Suick's are a pull and rise bait with a flat metal tail. They really don't have much action to them. They are usually used over grass or veg. and are intended to sink on the pull a couple of feet. They rise slowly as you crank in the slack to start the next pull. Killer on Muskies.
  7. Best jig trailer I ever used was their black split tail trailer or eel, or whatever they called it.
  8. It might have to do with the lack of epoxy to mount screws as we do. It could be they just didn't test screws as we do and "thought" they wouldn't be strong enough. Some times good enough IS good enough.
  9. Mark, I would suggest you get the wire that is prestraightened with a loop already in one end. Most coils of wire tend to go back to that circle shape. They also make some small stainless steel brake lines that are small and tough. Musky Glenn
  10. I have never put anything in my Badger for lub. What is it supposed to do if you don't use lub.
  11. I'm just going to throw my two cents worth in there with the intention of not stepping on anyones toes. I am seventy and have worked in construction or instruction of construction for over 50 years. The instruction side of it had good ventilation system for the last 15 years (of 29 years) Other than those 15 years there was no vent system. I know different people get affected my dust, but it just never bothered me or the classes I taught. The white cheap face mask was the furnished way of controlling our dust. It is my experience that a well adjusted band saw blade will be fine if left fully adjusted all the time. Instead of doing like me, use your own better judgement.
  12. Abom 79 on utube showed a chart on sizing of O rings on one of his videos so there must be more info out there than we have come up with. I just did a google search and a chart came up, you just need your dimensions.
  13. I don't guess you can seal to much, but looks like one good seal coat should do the trick.
  14. I believe that would be a fair test but I would rather have it totally under water. Not for pressure but to make sure the top side was covered also. Let us know how it goes. I would like to see it done with just the seal coat and one with the top coat so we could tell for sure that the seal coat was stopping water intrusion. If only the top coated lure stopped the water then the seal coat might be eliminated.
  15. All of those ideas sound good but what actually happens in a lot of cases is the same thing that happens in a bucket of finish. Ever get that dried skim on top and still fluid under neath. They seal off the out side and don't let them dry properly under neath. Although those sanding sealers and polyurethanes sound good, they are a problem waiting to happen. Take a scrap piece of wood, soak it in one of those oil base sealers, let dry then leave it in a bucket of water over night, then weigh, measure it. Musky Glenn
  16. I have used Wapsi a lot and never had a problem. Could it be how it was stored after you opened it?
  17. If the fisherman is comfortable throwing larger baits I would suggest dropping the smaller size in favor of a 6" and an 8" bait.
  18. I thought the flux just broke it all apart and gravity did the rest with the heaviest lead sinking to the bottom.
  19. I use rod wrapping nylon thread and use finger nail polish under it and for the finish coat. I pour my heads with the weed guard in place. It's a pain but no more than I tie it works for me. Musky Glenn
  20. On some large musky lures, I add a soft plastic tail. I made a plaster of paris mold of the tail and made the mold so that I could push the lure body up to the mold and pour the plastic into the 1/2" inch hole bored in the end of the lure. That would attach the tail to the lure body and does a nice job of holding the tail to the lure body. It is a large version of the Shallow Invader and I used a factory replacement tail for the pattern. I've raised nine muskies on this lure but haven't caught one yet.
  21. Badger also makes a nice line of paints for the air brush.
  22. Did I read somewhere that flat and high gloss both look about the same under water. Or am I just completely wrong. Musky Glenn
