I used a moisture cured urethane on my living room floors 15 yrs. ago and it dried over night. Really wish I could remember what I used. Can't remember like I used to. I just had to go back and reread what I had written to remember what I said. Shucks, forgot again. Musky Glenn
  4. It has to be learned, because I have zero talent. Musky Glenn
  5. It seems to me that the flatter the paint the more shine I get with the clear coat. Musky Glenn
  6. I was mainly interested in seeing what every one fished out of. But don't limit it to that on my account. Three of us retired guys went to Virginia Mon. Tues. Wed. of this week and caught a 35" and 42" musky out of my boat. Musky Glenn

  8. Try folded clevises 2421 at www.lurepartsonline.com. Hope this helps. Musky Glenn
  9. I'd like to add a few words about quality of lumber and what we do with that lumber. Most lumber is graded to allow a minimum of knots and that gives the most long and wide pieces of lumber that are clear. For what most of use lumber for, unless it is high production, lower grades of lumber may be the best buy. If you pick and choose to cut around knots the rest of the wood is usually of the same high quality only in smaller sizes. Musky Glenn
  10. A side note on the quick built plywood boat. We used regular roofing cement that you can buy in caulking tubes to seal all the joints in that boat. We didn't paint the boat then and fished out of it that evening. The black caulking didn't dry and we had that junk all over us by the end of the day. Fun but what a mess! Musky Glenn
  11. My guess.... If in doubt follow the dollar. Small lures have less room for extras like shrink wrapping in the cost of lures. In the larger musky size in line "bucktails" a lot of them heat shrink the large trebble hook, and man, it helps in keeping fish on the hook and in hooking percentage. No noticeable difference in the running of the lure and the hook stays hid in the skirt material. Musky Glenn
  12. With me, it is usually the front hook, which doesn't get shrink wrapped, on a big bucktail that takes all the tangles. I believe the large size flashabou is 1/16 inch. Personally, I don't have much luck on flashabou. I tend to use more silicone skirts. Musky Glenn
  13. I agree with RayburnGuy, Sunrise over chrome or silver, and make sure you heat set it, makes a great gold. Musky Glenn
  14. Can't wait to see them 412 bait. Always enjoy seeing what everyone fishes from. My first boat was a plywood float boat for a small stream that had a good spring run of white bass. My brother and I built it in two hours and fished out of it that evening. No paint, just bare plywood, caught a ton of fish for the next three years. Started to deteriate so we built the next one. 4X8 foot sheet of plywood made the entire bottom. The seats just layed on top of the sides so we could remove to load and slide front to back to even the load. We bored 3/4 inch holes along the top edge so we could cut willows and place in those holes. Made a great camoflage boat for float duck hunting. You could slip right up on ducks. Musky Glenn
  15. I didn't weigh the brick mold pvc to check it for weight, but it seems very light compared to wood. On my 5 ounce musky lures 2.5 ounces of that was lead to make it sink. (Slightly more than sink) Musky Glenn
  16. I can get 9 ounces on line for what I pay for a couple of ounces locally. I had trouble with the local 30 min. being a weak type and not the 3500 or what ever it is. Musky Glenn
  17. Love to see a photo of it streamdancing. Musky Glenn
  18. Little River, Have you tried having the fan behind you or to the side blowing away from you instead of toward you. You actually get less terbulance if the fan is sucking instead of blowing. Musky Glenn
  19. To help keep loose items to a minimum, I only use no. 2 ball bearing swivels for holding blades on spinner baits. This creates a problem with the larger musky size blades as there isn't much clearance room inside the small split ring for the blade and swivel to by pass. Having to open a no.2 up enough to go over the large blade often bends the small split ring. To cure this I often use two split rings, with a larger one going on the blade and the smaller one from the swivel going onto this larger split ring. This way I end up with the swivel, small split ring, large split ring, blade. Musky Glenn
  20. I buy mine from www.lurepartsonline.com .Musky Glenn
  21. Even if you get them on with out scratching them it won't last. The split ring will wear the paint off just from the wear effect on the edges of the hole. Just my two cents worth. Musky Glenn
  22. bobv, I would guess that they do get that hot. I know some of the ceiling fans we used to install, that had thermostats on them, wouldn't turn on until it got up to 140 in an attic. I know that doesn't have anything to do with a boat, but it does show how hot temps get in weird places. Musky Glenn
  23. Just a side thought. Does anyone deal with "bar codes"? Musky Glenn
  24. Littleriver, When we used to spray lacquer onto furniture, it was the fastest drying clear finish that we used. We had a problem on table tops keeping the field "wet" until we got back with the next stroke. If we used the high dollar auto type of lacquer, they had a slower drying thinner that helped that problem some. Not sure how dipping and soaking would affect that drying speed. Musky Glenn
  25. I didn't see a bad item listed, but they all assume you are ready to "make kindling". I would suggest some good layout tools. Nothing worse than trying to guess where the center of something is, or how long to make this slot or how deep do I drill. Musky Glenn
