  1. Very nice Vodkaman, your work never ceases to amaze me. One thing you might be able to do is move the bearing back under the table top so that you can rig an adjustable hold down piece across the top, beside the blade to control the up movement of the wood. It would need to be a close fit so that the wood could move freely. One thing that causes the difficulty in cutting thick material is that the length of stroke is shorter than the material thickness and the blade can't clear the saw dust from the cut. Fewer teeth with more set might help. I wouldn't give it much hope, especially if you have a band saw. Musky Glenn
  2. I have never tried this, but there is not much that lacquer thinner won't remove. Just cover with thinner and let set for ten minutes. If it is going to work that will do it. Musky Glenn
  3. I agree with Pitbull, room size has to be a consideration as to how many cfm of fan size needed. Musky Glenn
  4. I just pour for myself so I don't do a lot of pouring. I just use a fan for keeping cool not ventilation. Musky Glenn
  5. PowerWorm, Thanks, that sure was easy after you explained it to me. Musky Glenn
  6. Rick, I hate to hi jack a post, but this seems like the perfect place for me to get some answers. I have trouble using the search function. I copied and pasted your "tube tail cutters" and only got one reply and that was your last response. What am I doing wrong, I never get leads like I would expect with the search function. Musky Glenn
  7. A # 12 wire is generally used for up to 20 amps. You didn't say how many amps your trolling motor pulled under full load. A good electrician needs to give us some correct information concerning correct fuse size and wire size. It also matters if it is being 12 volts or 24 volts. How about letting us know how many amps the trolling motor pulls and we can give you some better information. You need a fuse or breaker of some type, but not larger than what the wire will stand and that is 20 amps on a #12 wire. Musky Glenn
  8. VodkaMan, that is interesting and I wish I could understand it but there is a vortex in my head that just keeps spinning it back out. I always enjoy your technical post. I only build the lures that I am interested in fishing with. Usually to replace one that has been discontinued. Musky Glenn

  10. I always respected your opinion Vodkaman. I thought my reply dealt directly with the subject and I only added the additional view of the top coat because dochollow stated he was a rank beginner. Musky Glenn
  11. Very clear cut and well explained. Thanks for taking the time to post this. Musky Glenn
  12. I use a hair dryer for setting the paint only, not the d2t. epoxy. Yes, it is time consuming! Some of the colors flash off to a different shade with the hair dryer than with out the dryer. Musky Glenn
  13. A friend had a custom painted "Hell Hound" that had been dipped in epoxy and hung front up to dry. The epoxy ran to the tail and covered the two "planning projections" that come out each side of the tail. It just wouldn't glide correct. I repainted it and brushed on a thin coat of d2t and solved the problem. That is the only time I have seen a problem either way. Musky Glenn
  14. All answers are very logical, but my money is with BobP. Musky Glenn
  15. Listen to Rayburn Guy!
  16. Having done wood working all my life, I can truly appreciate all the work that went into your project. It looks like you will be having a lot of fun with the canoe for many years. Congratulations on a work of art. Musky Glenn
  17. I agree with Vodkaman about sanding cross grain. Fine line scratches can be eliminated with the sealer and paint coats. Musky Glenn
  18. That was an excellent demonstration! How is the pin, that holds the rattle, attached to the Stainless Steel. Musky Glenn
  19. W;onder if the heat gun and smoke detectors are on the same circuit? Musky Glenn
  20. Eight inch grubs are pretty standard in the musky world. Try www.muskyshop.com. Don't know if they have that color or not, but 8" grubs are listed in their catalogue . Action Plastics "magnum Grubs" are priced at $.99 each. Musky Glenn
  21. I agree with BobP, T those hooks by bending them so they are farther away from the body of the lure. Usually one prong needs to be bent more than the other one. That stops the rasp, but more important, it really helps with hooking fish better because two points of the hook are not laying right next to the body of the lure. Musky Glenn
  22. One of the guys in the WNC Muskie Club got bite off last summer on a flor. leader. Only one example, but most of us in the club have gone back to steel leaders. Musky Glenn (President of WNC Muskie Club)
  23. Try these guys, they have packs of 25 for $7.-$10.00 depending on size. Musky Glenn http://www.tackledirect.com/quick-rig-stainless-steel-welded-rings.html
  24. Looks like a flying purple people eater to me. Wish I had a sack of them. Musky Glenn
  25. Thanks for posting, it is just as important to know what doesn't work as what does work. Sorry for the expense it cost you. Musky Glenn
