  1. purely matter of opinion not fact Bear's bbcp ultra is no longer available and i havent seen to many too many people talk about the alumisol. myself, i perfer Calhoun. time and time again i try the next best plastic everyone is talking about and im still using calhoun.
  2. you will never get that mold to laminate. you need to go with single cav to do it, and top port to do it reliably, the side port can shoot good laminates though, but only in a single. most swimbait molds have each side of the bait in the mold instead of the back in one half and belly in the other which would be required for multi cav laminates.
  3. my quote is coming in for a small machine Mike, im not looking at a larger machine. im just really weighing my options right now. as far as Bears machine goes, they made some big changes to allow the use of heavier amounts of salt and regrinds. they are no longer pushing the plastic with air and have gone to pumps, that will recirculate the plastic not being used.
  4. that mold will not laminate by the looks of it.
  5. i find injection much faster, as you can fill multiple cavities at the same time. now as far as economical small bench top machines go, there is jacobs (looks ok, but limited to 1 colour, a 1 quart holding capacity and is held in a heated container) and Bears bench top, which cost significantly more than jacobs, but it is capable of 2 colour laminates, it looks to hold at least 3 gal in each "hopper" (2 hoppers) and uses 2 1.2lb heat exchangers to heat the plastic just before it hits the nozzle. Now you could contact Zorn Molds as well to see what they have to offer (i am waiting to hear from them) but get ready for their costs as these guys dont screw around (they supply some big companies injection equipment)
  6. one of the guys out of Arizona, rymes with bellfart
  7. all i can tell you is that in order to make those types of colours you need to have a vast understanding of colours, how they react with light and eachother.
  8. Bear's Red Shad Red (bleeds) and Candy Apple Red are both transparent colours and great colours to have

    Pvc For Mold

looking around at the molds on that site they arent machined, if you look at the craw molds on one of the claws you can see where it lifted at the tips of one claw, you cant machine an undercut like that. my guess is he is pouring a liquid PVC casting resin.
  10. and how many times now have you heard that BassCandy LOL.

    Pvc For Mold

i would be worried about our soft plastic (liquid PVC) bonding with the hard PVC mold.
  12. any longer than i am told at the time of purchase is too long (except in uncontrollable circumstances). I have been in the same situation as you are in now, i would bet with the same vendor. I gave up long before you have if its who i think it is some quick searching will show that they have quite the reputation for doing just this.

    Pigments

each of those companies buy the raw pigments and reduce them with DINP themselves. unless they are all using the same DINP - pigment ratio (they arent) they wont be the same

    Worm Oil

the plastic we use wont dry out, or lose its elasticity, i have a worm here that feels the same and is just as stretchy as it was when i made it..........3 years ago. worm oil is DINP, no it is not a household product. it is used as a base for most scents ie, Bear's, LC, Lureworks. worm oil by it self is not a scent, its just used as a lubricant.
  15. too bad they don't sell laminated barrier bags, like those used in most if not all commercial soft plastics. if you dont want to buy 1000 bags at once then use Lure Craft. yes you have to pay shipping, but unless you are within driving distance to LC or one of the manufacturers then you have to pay shipping regardless. if you are willing to buy 1000 bags at once Johnson Bag can set you up. they manufacture the bags them selves and will sell direct.
  16. Nope, gotta buy online. check out LC
  17. Bear's, its one of the most potent scents there are!!!!
  18. he is saying he would have to buy a 110V pot from the US and the European electrical system is 220V so he would have to reduce the voltage which is an added cost as well
  19. yes, do some searches on the forum, many people have been down this road and you could save yourself a ton of time and money by doing a bit of reading
  20. should be using silicone mold material when using a hard master.
  21. no need to get all up tight buddy, but frank has it, Riteheat makes some, and there is a couple others out there that dont come to mind. but these arent the cheap pots though, expect to pay for what you get.
  22. with the right pots LOL
  23. nope but i do set it on a cold stainless bench daily no issues yet, going like this for a couple years
