  1. the first time any of my baits hit water is on the end of a customers line.

i have seen 3 different pics of this bait and they all looked like different colours
  3. gimme some more time to look at this Mike, but something don't look right to me. would you not want to take 268.75 (cost per 250 baits, total made in one hour) and multiply by 8 (hrs) before adding 100.00 (8 hrs misc costs) and dividing by 2000 (number of baits made in 8 hrs)? seems odd to be taking the cost of baits per hour and dividing by the amount made in 8 hrs. i could be off but that is my thinking right now.
  4. i would try RTV silicone first to be safe.

the problem with trying to match a colour from a picture you see on the computer or what you see on your TV is the monitor will not display it properly. the best thing to do in this situation is go buy a bag of them and have it in front of you to match it, it will be much easier.
  6. post a pic of this cheap paint mask
  7. you need to seal the POP before you can pour it. elmers glue/water mix (50/50) or thinned epoxy.
  8. depends on the mask, a dust mask offers zero protection. the proper mask will require you to replace the cartridges periodically as well.
  9. thats why i originally asked who's scent you used and how much.
  10. who's plastic and how much was used, who's scent and how much scent did you put in to it?
  11. buy a pint from every company that wont give you a sample, and get a sample from the companies that will, then make up your own mind. try med grade plastic.
  12. inject slow and hold pressure for a 10-15 count. i would try that before modding the mold
  13. 2 years without a single issue using a pyrex on a griddle, using strictly pyrex, and im not the only person either. putting the pyrex on a sheet of cast aluminum that has the element under it is entirely different than placing the cup directly on the element as you would on a stove top.
  14. bingo JigMan, its the rapid swing from one extreme to another that will destroy the pyrex.
  15. it allows the bait to collapse and expose the hook point
  16. as per manufacturers specs, they are only good for 8 hrs exposure to air before they are no good. been using them for nearly 20 years as well.
  17. you cant be a part of anything on this forum without starting something or stirring the pot can you? your attitude definatly drags the spirit of this forum and why it was started down.
  18. it is usually so they can talk and explain what they are doing. take the advice, trust us.
  19. that is what i want to avoid, can we get back to the original topic?
  20. no list, i just asked, dont expect FREE samples and it would surprise you.
  21. first, calling a beginner a "Newbie" i feel is quite derogatory and make it seem like we are all better than they are, especially when you are making assumptions about these beginners, remember we were all beginners at one point. i don't know about you but the first thing i did when i started pouring was ask several companies for a small sample to try, and i made my decision from there, some i paid shipping and others i didn't. would it not be better to suggest asking for samples and trying as many plastisols as possible and forming your own opinion rather than making an opinionated statement like "your better getting x-brand plastic because its idiot proof" ? if someone said that to me when i started i would have been quite p****d off.
  22. no clue why you are having that issue as i havent seen it once. Calhoun has a slight yellow tint compared to others i have used but again, that is from the amount of stabilizer in it. where any plastisol is from has really no bearing so long as they are mixed properly before breaking them down into the smaller quantities. The Calhoun Bear sells is the same Calhoun Del sold and is the same i get from the factory. Same goes for MF etc. seeing as this was just a post regarding pricing i dont see a reason for this thread to dive down that slippery slope of who uses the best plastic. considering that it all comes down to what you prefer and what works best for you and your method of making baits. Everyone should gain expierence using them all and form their own opinion.
