  1. supposed to post this in the classifieds buddy.
  2. no it actually doesnt, unless you greatly over heat it. ive gone through several drums this year and have had no issues what so ever with yellowing. with the ammount of stabilizer they use in the plastic you shouldnt have an issue. would really hate to see you miss inform someone just starting out. I use Calhoun, tried most (except for CCM) and keep going back to Calhoun. is it for everyone? NO. is any plastic for everyone? NO. to tell someone they should use a particular brand as their first because it will work best for them (which really is a preferance kind of thing anyway) is some of the worst advice i have ever heard given out on here. I will be honest, if i tried M-F as my first plastic i wouldnt be pouring still, i find the odour while cooking it unbearable and caused me sevear migranes, i also found it to be VERY oily after molding it. In short, if you are starting out, call everyone of the plastic suppliers and tell them you are just starting and trying to figure out which plastisol will best suit your needs, and if you can get a sample to try. you will have to pay shipping in most cases, but most should be willing to send you a sample, then you can form your own opinion instead of following some one elses.
  3. even a presto doesnt leave much room. best bet is a Rite Heat pot.
  4. little reading helps. he is having troubles with POP molds.
  5. thats the reason i wanted to see the sprue, im guessing (without knowing what i want to know) its running out of material while cooling. try injecting slower if you can and keep it topped up.
  6. where have you been looking, that is one of the more common molds LOL. http://www.bearsbaits.com/4-Stik-Bait-Mold_p_326.html http://www.bearsbaits.com/Stik-Bait--45--5-Cavity_p_54.html http://www.Basstackle.com/product_p/130-1-10.htm http://www.Basstackle.com/product_p/4stik.htm http://www.Basstackle.com/product_p/4stikinjection.htm http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=16432&cat=256&page=1 http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=16853&cat=256&page=1 http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=16142&cat=256&page=1 http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=17223&cat=399&page=1 http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=17180&cat=399&page=1 http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=17211&cat=399&page=1 There is a few of them, my suggestion is going to be Bears Baits or Bass Tackle, way too many people having trouble with Del-Mart molds lately.
  7. im usually around 300, unless i am shooting very small baits.
  8. it could be a few different things, i would like to see a pic of the mold. if you dont want to show the cavity that is fine, i just want to see the sprue area and runner.
  9. This is the exact reason why i have not spent a cent of my hard earned money with them, I dont want to associate myself with someone willing to shadily self promote their product "anonymously". there are 2 of our "suppliers" that i have seen do this here and i refuse to buy from either. this is something i have not seen Bear, Bass Tackle, Lure Craft or LureWorks do.

the only other bait it could be is the drop shot minna, and yes, i realize Kim carries aluminum molds from K molds, Del (we will see how long it takes for him to drop the ball) and Angling AI.

if its aluminum its K-molds lol
  13. they are not regarded as being all that great. i can tell you the presto pot is bad ass
  14. i make 4" and 5" hollow swims and i shoot solit colours and airbrush after, then add eyes and dip and clear.
  15. it can yes, they arent that consistant, the same as any single cav swimbait mold. line up the laminate block like you would any other mold, then spin it 90 degrees with the back colour closest to you.
  16. how many times were you told it was shipping that week?
  17. The question was regarding pouring aarons magic. Seeing as this is a 3 colour bait I think it is best to get this gentleman off on the right foot. It is a more difficult bait to pour correctly and will require plenty of practice but it is 100% more than possible. Just because robo uses a machine to pour the open mold many here have proven that all it takes is a little practice. Once you get comfortable with 2 colours 3 isn't all that hard
  18. this is actually a 3 colour bait, here is a good pic of it.
  19. make sure you stir the hell out of it or shake it really good and get a thermometer and make sure you are heating it to 350 degrees
  20. nope. drain the opt, turn it off and leave the valve open, when its cool just pull out the plug
  21. go through LC for them, they stock his molds, as well as others.
  22. that is a brand of polyester resin. fiberglass is used with either a polyester resin (like you have there) or epoxy resin.
  23. technically there is no such thing as "fiberglass" resin. it is polyester resin (fiberglass is the material the resin is soaked into). Bondo is a brand, not a product. polyester is a thick liquid resin that when mixed with a liquid catylist (mekp) will harden like a rock Body filler is a thick paste type material, also polyester based, that you mix with a cream catylist. you are going to have best results if you mix the 2 together 50:50 and use the liquid hardener with it. becareful with the hardener as too much will create too much heat and warp or crack the mold. use just a little less than recommended on the resin can.
  24. what grade plastic and how much softener did you add? chuck the bad plastic and heat a smaller batch with straight plastic.
