  1. I would like to learn how to design and create on some type of CAD software. What are your reccendations? Are there any legit at home learning programs? My plans are not to create molds but maybe one day print off 3d printers.
  2. Hey A-Mac what sizes have you bought? Also I would be interested in buying a few samples off you if you would be interested.
  3. Hello guys, I need a little help. I’m trying to make professional hollow baits. I have a design where I have two parts which I glue together and make one hollow piece. I plan on using a hobby injection molding machine and process to achieve a hard plastic lure. Is anyone else out there doing this or know of anyone doing this as a hobbyist or small production? What type of glue should I use, or is there another process I should be looking into? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jason J_abbott85@yahoo.com
  4. Sorry to hear, but that is nothing new.... This post will be deleted soon..... ha ha ha

  8. Read this article from Bassmaster... http://www.bassmaster.com/news/soft-plastics-banned Obviously Maine wishes to take prudent steps to sustain its fishery resource base and the economic base that flows from recreational fishing. Given that there is no study of the impact of soft baits on fish and other aquatic life in the wild, legislation banning these types of popular baits is unwarranted. The legislation seeks to ban “rubber” baits with rubber being undefined. Realistically, there are no such baits on the market as soft baits are made from various substances, none of which are rubber. There are biodegradable soft baits available and this legislation would ban even the use of those baits and certainly does nothing to encourage further research into that area or to improve consumer demand for those types of baits.

    Some carved pieces...

The PUFFER is the best. What type of wood/material are you using?
  13. Sammy, Great post and information. I was thinking about styrofoam board just to shape and add detail to the bait with hand saws and exacto blades. I wasn't really worried about testing the styrofoam but you make a good point. I have no experience with balsa or wood carving. I have been just sculpting clay with my hands and now need a more uniform way. I will be building a lure building work bench or cabniet now, that's to your post.
  14. Hey guys, I moved down to S.W. Florida last year from Ohio and was wondering if anyone was from the S.W. florida area that made hard baits and that would show me around the local watering holes.... Thanks Jason
  15. Anyone using the pink/blue styrofoam board the sell at the home improvement stores for carving masters? I see that prop and miniatures guys use it and since I live in a apartment and thought it may be easier to use and handle. Anyone else doing this and if so what tools do you use and any tips? Thanks
  16. Another good post! What about swim baits, any literature out there worth reading besides all the post. I'm trying to make a jointed swim/crank bait and trying to get the most action out of it. I might just have to make 10 baits with 10 different set ups and see...
  17. Awesome, thats what I was looking for. Thanks
  18. . I was wondering if there was any books or written literature on lure lips such as size, depth, angle, action and ect.. I have Searched the forum over and over again trying to read all of the topics and post, but I was hoping that all this information may be located in one source hopefully with diagrams
  19. Everything cost money...., I was hoping some one had experience with a company or a web site. A example would be great.
  20. Ok, here it goes ..... I got the custom design, the color, the plastic, the process, and the plastic bags. How do you guys advertise your lures or display graphics on your lure or bags? Any recommendations?

    Wax

Yea that wax it Awsome but I'm having a hard time carving into it. First of all I'm using a electric lead ladle to melt the wax just because its ease of use and small side. The electric lead ladle has no temp control, just really freaking hot and off. I think I may be getting the wax too hot and throwing the chemistry off and that's why I'm getting hard wax. What you think? The wax is very easy to use and cast with rtv and aluminum molds. No mold release needed and extreme durable bu flexible t the same time. I can bend my soft plastic wax cast in half with out breaking. Cleaning is a ease too just wait for the wax to cool and peel it off.
