I use the Badger 155 Anthem and it works fine for me. Not to hard to break down and clean after a few good painting sessions. Michaels carries the replacement tips, needles and nozzels now in all three so sizes so that's a plus for me also cause I hate ordering stuff online. If you go with the 155 let me know if you have any questions or problems and I'll be glad to help if I can.......... Joe
Finally got a chance to paint a few for a friend. These are heading to Kerr Lake this weekend for a state tournament. Hope they help him out..............Joe
Been wondering about the chrome paints. I'll have to give this a try this weekend. Kosmic Krome is the only one I've read about that gives good results but it's a little bit pricey. This sounds like a possible good alternative. Thanks for the info............Joe
Small world...I spent all weekend fishing in Swan Quarter for specks. Hopefully there's as many where you're headed as we found sat and sun. Not sure about the balsa you are using for your build but I can tell you etex holds up pretty good on specks and reds. I use the Rapala Twitchin Rap and have several repaints that have caught over 200 trout each and are still kicking. I will say that the Rapala balsa lure have some kinda plastic coating on the balsa wood that helps to make the lure stronger. Not sure what it is but if you find out let me know. Good luck with the speck fishing..............Joe
Thanks guys. Forgot to mention that I layered the chartreuse between the layers of etex to give it that deeper look. It really adds a 3dimensional kinda look to it when done. Thanks again for the kind words fellas. .......Joe
White base coat, over thinned pearl white all over, brite blue on the sides, chartreuse top and bottom then added pearl satin gold for the craw lines.............Joe
Gonna give some of these away in my next Fishers Of Men inshshore tournament to some of the youngsters in the junior division. This is the first of 5 and this one goes in my box. Plus I screwed up the fins on this one. The others are getting a coat of clear before I add the fins so I can fix em if I have this problem again. Got to work on my thinned black paint......it's misbehaving. .............Joe
I've joined a couple others likes 360tuna just to look at some saltwater lures since that makes up 99% of my fishing but I only post here. Look all you want but there's no place like like TU.......none.
Thanks guys. Guess I'll just use the ones I got for display models. Don't want to put anything out there that ain't gonna hold up. Never jad a paint failure and don't want to start now. Thanks again........Joe
Hey guys just wondering if etex will hold up on cranbait bills and other lipped baits. Have a hand full that I cleared the entire bait but haven't used em and was just wondering if I should continue with this any further. Thanks guys..........Joe
Thanks! Back in the day we did a lot of night fishing and I'm hoping to get back at it again this year. Caught many a bass over 8lbs fishing after hours........Joe
