  1. Stripped down to the balsa wood sanded it smooth then coated with etex. Painted the pattern over the clear which allows the wood grain to show through. Got the idea from the Rapal BX Minnow. Not finished yet I'm trying to make a tail stencil for the nose of the bait. Any ideas i can't get it just the way I want it.Thanks...........Joe
  2. I am going to send em a email today and see what they say. I did see that you can get a 2oz sample from oneof their ddealers but I have looked to see if you can get the primer in a sample. The samples are $5 . I'll see what I can come up with. .......Joe
  3. Just surfing the web and came across this product...Eco-Tuff high traffic clear coat. It's no voc formula and also comes in a submersible formula as well. It's a water based product and supposedly "safe". Price isn't bad at $85 a gallon. Just wanted to see if it is a usable product for crankbait clear coating. Maybe some of the all knowing folks up here could take a look at the technical data on this product and see if it could be used. It's chip resistant and has UV blockers. I read a whole bunch of the information on it but maybe you guys could have a look. Who knows? ...it may work? Would be awesome to have something durable and safe that could be dipped and hung to dry......fingers crossed. Thanks. .......Joe

    Red Shad 1.5

Thanks Brent. We Got to talking about all the lures we used growing up the other day. I mainly used two lures as a kid... red shad plastic worms and grape shad plastic worms and I figured if it worked that well on a worm why not a crankbait. Grape shad is next on the list.......Joe
  5. Anybody know who sells the loudest 1.5 blanks? Any info is greatly appreciated. ..........Joe

  7. He's alive! Ain't heard from you in a while, trout must biting at the ER!! lol. Thanks markinorf.........Joe
  8. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the old and they just changed the package. I have used the "home" d2t on some of my lures that I couldn't wait to use instead of my normal etex clear. Haven't had and problems with it other than the usual issues with d2t............Joe
  9. Thanks Crankie221. Been painting a lot lately .......I may have a problem!!! LOL........Joe
  10. Thanks Hokie. My buddy said he wanted one with lots of contrast and colors and this what I came up with. Hope he likes it..........Joe

    It really bright!!
  12. Thanks RG. It was a lot of fun yesterday. I don't fish in the fresh stuff very much but it was just to windy to go looking for specks and reds so we went to couple spots I fished growing right here by my house. Brought back a bunch good memories and we caught some nice fish. Can't beat it!!......Joe
  13. Finally made to river today for some "testing". Caught about a dozen LM Bass and some nice Stripers on my Bourbon Street Perch pattern 1.5 today. As good as they bit this one today I'm gonna have to paint a few more like it real soon. This was the biggest of the day, 10lbs+ I'm guessing. She was FULL of roe. Released alive and and well to have all them babies...........Joe

    Tennessee Shad

Another version of Tennessee Shad I've been working on. There are six different colors under the scale pattern and getting a picture to show them all was not possible for me. Definitely need something other than my phone to take pictures. Takings pics is a whole other art form in it self I can't get right. Got $1200 in camera stuff and I get better pics with my phone!! LOL..............Joe
  16. Thanks guys. My buddy picked up a large lot of crankbaits in a auction and there were several of these in the box. We just wanted to know what brand they are. Thanks again.............Joe

    real shell

Looks nice!! Be careful with that stuff, seems like I heard somewhere that the dust from the shell is toxic if inhaled. Not exactly sure but you may want to check. Great looking lure though ..........Joe

  21. Nice looking bait!!! Hope it does well for you$$$$.........Joe
  22. Thanks Rayburn. I pulled up some picks on Google and went with one that looked like someone had drawn it for an illustration rather than using a real picture. In the pic it has some red tipped scales and a orange and red fin that I would like to add but it'll need a coat of clear before I do it. Don't want to mess it up and I ain't exactly sure how I painted it!! LOL....I've got to start writing this stuff down or taking step by step pics!!! Thanks again RbG........Joe
