I've been stocking up on tools in my shop in the last week for lure building and am also going to be using PVC board as well. Stopped by Lowes on my way home today to pick up some boards and my brother called about the time I had my hands on the PVC. Told him what I was buying and he asked why would I pay for something I can get for free. I had totally forgotten his old lady works for a vinyl fencing and board distributor. They have a huge pile of scraps waiting for me tomorrow. Only thing I'm not sure of is if this brand will work. She said it's called "Gorilla Board". Anybody know anything about it? With the luck I've been having lately it probably won't!!! LOL ................Joe

Caught this nice little chub a couple weeks back while fishing for Speckled Trout. If you look at the other picks I'm posting you'll see she's got about a 10" mullet stuck in her throat.!! Greedy little fish.................Joe -
Thanks Hokie. Had a lot of time on my hands lately recovering from surgery. Been trying to paint as much as possible but now I'm ready to fish again and the weather sucks. Just can't catch a break in it for some water testing........Joe -

Got the idea watching taxidermy video on you tube. I forget what they call it but was watching the guy doing the scale tips on a Large Mouth replica paint job. The next one I do i'm going to do all the scales kinda like a checker board pattern. I can see lots of pottential for some of the guys up here that like to do lots of Blue Gills, Small Mouth and other fish that have those hard to copy broken patterns. Painted in the LC copper perch pattern. These are getting handed over to a friend fishing a club tournament this weekend. Hope they help him..................Joe

It was a blank. I think bustinbassbaits has em and there are several on the big auction site online. About $2.50 per bait I think, had these about a year. Dives around 2"-6". When I got these I tested one to see how strongthey were so hung one up with about 20lbs of weight from the line tie. It finally gave way after 7.5hrs. That was with no paint or clear coat straight out of the pack. Should be a little stronger once cleared with d2t or etex. Had to test em just to make sure because I use em fishing for red fish around here some. Hate it when they break lures but these haven't failed yet.

Pattern for low light conditions/night time. Trying something different in painting the 3-d scales one at a time with a toothpick. It's a neat effect I'll be trying some more..........Joe

Thanks for the compliment. It's a simple pattern but I think less is more sometimes. I'm really digging these new eyes I got. My phone won't capture the details in them but they look cool to me. They're called Fish Skull Fly Eyes.........Joe -
Lots of pearls in this one. Should really pop when I get it cleared. Hopefully tonight so I can use em Saturday. Got an inshore tournament for Specks and Stripers and the Stripers do love a wakebait around here..............Joe
