  1. Yeah my buddy told me a few minutes ago "I need some more free samples, I'll even use that Corn Snake looking thing you just painted" LOL....it's different for sure.........it's amazing all the tips and tricks you can learn from this place if you pay attention;) Thanks..........Joe
  2. The red eye on these lure is factory and they stick out about a 1/4"-3/8". They're next to impossible to remove and just as bad to try and mask off. Been carefully scraping the paint off with a wet tooth pick. Any ideas on a better method?....Thanks............Joe

Another Rapala Twitching Rap that I like to to call "The Green Hornet". Gave some to my friends to try out and they smoked the Speckled Trout with these. Got a bunch more about ready to go out since I have so much time on my hands....Been stuck at home recovering from emergency Gallbladder surgery since the day after Christmas. About killed me but good doctors and a great wife got me rolling again!!!!! Hope ya'll keep your lines tight!!!.................Joe
  4. Rapala Twitching Rap in a Mud Minnow Pattern. These are small bait fish fish that live in the salt marshes around here.Every picture of these little rascals is different. It gave me a fit!!!....Specks love em. Hope they like this one............
  5. This is custom Mirrolure 17MR in a "nemo" type pattern. This lure comes in the broken glass foil that you see, I just masked off those areas hit it with some white, tranparent orange and yellow createx. had a few issues with masking the lure off but this is mine and it doesn't bother me. Should look okay when I get some etex on it. Thanks for the video Solar!!!

Those look like something one a dem Elizabeth River gators can snack on. Nice!!! I got a few I'm bringing up there in 2 weeks;)
  7. YouthintheWind let me apologize for not sending the lures I said I was. Been pretty tough around home lately. My mother is fighting a battle with breast cancer and not doing to well. Haven't been able to get a lot of painting done over the last couple months but hopefully things will get better. Again I am deeply sorry and you will receive lures from my son and I for the next contest .................Joe
  8. Check Hawaii Lure. They have more holographic tape and transparent tape with different scale patterns than any place I've found yet.
  9. Hey guys I've been looking for some 4"-4.5" glider blanks and can not seem to find any. Plastic or wood it doesn't matter either will work. Something kinda like the Strike Pro Baby Buster is what I'm after. Recently found the Strike Pro's but they're $14 per bait and that can get pricey plus they don't have all the colors I want in the U S A. Found some bigger glide baits but they're to heavy. I would like to find em around 1-1.5oz . Gotta keep the weight down because I really don't want to use a heavy action rod when I'm fishing for speckled trout here in the Carolina's. Thanks...........Joe
  10. If I can send more than 1 I would like to send one of my 6 year old son's lures and 1of mine as well. Be glad to help anyway we can. Being the husband of a youth minister we get involved with a lot of events that help kids..................Joe
  11. Thanks. Mostly saltwater fishing on my end but I do hit hit the fresh stuff from time to time.

    Spook One Knocker

Needed to ad some "color" to my tackle box. Fished it last weekend and landed a 2.5lb speck on the first cast!(hope that's not bad luck).

    Skitter walk

Painted this skitter walk in a sort of Mullet pattern for a tournament this coming weekend. Hope the specks like it as much as I do.

    Speck!

Went the next day I caught this fatty. Not as big as my buddy but a nice one. Just over 5lbs. Hope I can find em again this coming weekend durning the tournament...........Good fishing Joe
  15. This came in at just over 6lbs my buddy's largest to date. Topwater....Gotta love it!
  16. Anyone ever use the UV cure epoxy? I've seen a guy at a local tackle shop use it to make 3-d eyes and even small spoons for a fly rod. I think it's the same stuff the dentist uses on teeth for fillings. Look it up it's pretty cool stuff.
  17. I use small clear plastic cups as well. You can get the ones I use at the dollar store. Come 10 to a pack and they have lids(3-4 oz). Good for storing/mixing all kinds of stuff.
  18. Up late and just came across this brand of epoxy paint/clear coat called Klass Kote. Says on the site that their epoxy top coat can be thinned with their reducer and sprayed. Just curious if y'all have tried this with any luck. Brushing on etex now but just looking for something I can spray other than auto clears. To many health hazards for me. Thanks....................Joe
  19. Thanks for the good comments. Its a hard plastic suspending jerk bait with rattles )high pitch). Havent tested it yet but hope to do so this weekend.
  20. Got these shrimp blanks a while back figured I'd paint one in a natural color. Hope they work?!!?

    Big red.

Caught this beast while fishing for speckled trout in the Pamlico Sound . Just over 40" and landed on 10lb test. Took about 15 minutes to land and had to run her down with the boat head on into a 2' chop. Standing on the front of the boat taking waves in the knee caps has never been this much fun!!!!

    Baby Speck? Looks good!!
  23. On my side of the pond there's a few baits on the market for inshore fishing that have a pink back and a yellow belly that are called Texas Chicken and they are more pastel colored these are painted in hot pink and chartreuse over pearl white and are much brighter so I figured why not call em Carolina Chickcen since I live in North Carolina. And thanks for the compliment all your baits are just......WOW

    firetiger
