Well I am going to be doing it basicly to enjoy it.. I used to build models as a kid, and then went to building renovations.. Besides lures and more I am going to make wood items and welding items like smokers.. I am planning to donate fishing items to what I believe to be hero's, doctors, nurses, teachers, military, and kids that can show they are not scumbags.. I wish to stay with my favorite fish, Northern, Crappy, Walleye, Trout, Salmon.. As far as materials, Bear (Ole Lady) does bead stuff (And so much more) and has THOUSANDS of all kinds of beads, I bought a air brush, have a couple thousand jigs painted, and made a bobbin to tie.. I have also about every wood machine to make about anything but need to get someone that can help BUT are having a hard HARD time to find anyone wanting to really work instead of talking about it.. It does suck to be in a chair most of the time tho and the other time in bed doing therapy.. I'm thinking to start with making some lures out of the couple of thousand wine corks and turn them into frogs, mice, poppers, etc.. Where do I start besides just get home from shopping and got a fishing paper in the process.. Thanks to all for info as I ask for help as I have info overload and do NOT wish to order blades, wire, etc, etc, etc and find I went the wrong direction..

I am now disabled and wish to make through wire lures, spinners, and order split rings, blades, Hooks, Wire, Etc to save on funds and have something to do.. I wish to use only stainless steel wire and the questions I have to start with are; 1. What should I order and from whom ?? I have some catalogs and have the net.. 2. I have prices from McMaster-Carr so far but do not know if I should just get wire from one source to save on total bill.. I am thinking to get ¼ lb so I can save and not have to worry of running low, or should I just get 30 feet of.. 3. What size do I order for what I wish to do ?? 4. Should I order different size wire or can one size do it all ?? 5. Can I bend my own split rings and have them be reliable ?? 6. What sized treble hooks should be correct for a 3” / 4” / 5” lure ?? 7. Should I order a wire former or build one ?? A. If I order one what is the one too get considering I am poor now ?? When all else fails it is nice to be able get a giggle.. Matter of fact i believe there should be an area devoted to the giggles of the things we do..

Considering I consider myself an inventor http://dictionary.re...browse/Inventor It is hard to believe for me to believe anyone can think they can steal, and it is fine and dandy all because others do it, even if it a small item that is NOT important to the masses that believe it to be sane all because it is easily duplicated.. Even if it is a light bulb, the person that INVENTED it is going to consider it stealing, As soon as a price tag is put on it..

I have not given this idea yet and now feel it is time to get it done.. If you wish to fine tune your mold to SHOW scales, lips, boogers, etc,,, use glazing & spot putty that is used with auto body repair.. It comes in a kind of toothpaste tube and is thin BUT is hard as two rocks when it cures FAST..

Maybe there is software that Nascar uses that would obviously work for lures.. It is nice to hear that this thread is going in many directions but I was originally thinking to draw out the lures with software and them print.. This would be better for me personally because of not only because I am a shitty sketcher but also my body does not do what I wish it to do most of time and is very frustrating..

I am thinking to make a drawing like I have in the past and find I am STILL NOT good at putting crooked lines together the way they should.. I am thinking to start learning some software to make 3D sketches and of course the software MUST be Free.. This would be to create detailed drawing of some of my inventions and lures.. I am taking a strong look at SketchUp from Google.. ( http://sketchup.google.com/product/gsu.html ) .. Do you use software to design your inventions / lures?? What do you use ?? Are there any pro's and con's I should be looking for.. What other questions should I be asking ??
