Ya I like the look of the lipless also. It must be the KO to the Rapala Rippin' Rap. It weights 21 grams (.7oz) . It has a bunch of rattles in it and sound like a bunch of bb's. The length of the bait is 2 3/4" long. It has a big 3d eye I measured it at 8mm so I would have to get some eyes for them unless you guys have suppliers that sell 8mm eyes.

Gst International Lacquer Based Concrete Sealer As A Topcoat
tekoutdoors.co replied to Mad Moose Baits's topic in Hard Baits
Wow what a topic. Next time I make it to Fargo I will pick up some GST or Eagle Supreme depending on what I can find. I have used Devcon and DN. Devcon sucked for working time and DN was a nightmare to store. This will make it fun to finish baits again. Thanks guys!! -
rlarson I have not been able to find the wiggle wart KO. I found a bait that looks similar to the rapala twitchn but it is about 95mm long making it about 3 3/4" long. I can post a pick later if you would like.

These are the blank that I just got samples of. I still have not found the MirrOlure or twitchin' Rap KO's. Let me know what kind you would like to see.

I started to mix my Createx paint with water and pledge future shine and it worked great for me. The mix was 50% paint, 30% water and 20% pledge future shine.

I can say if a cheaper brush or more expensive brush would be better for a beginner just because I started with an Iwata Revolution BR and I am still impressed with it 3 years later. I might of got out of it using a cheaper airbrush with the junk I produced at the beginning because the price would of been a throw away. I think if you would spend close to $100 you may push yourself more to learn the craft of painting baits etc. I would just find a nice airbrush with a .3mm needle anything bigger it will be very hard to get nice detail. There is one on ebay for $78.95 with free shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Iwata-Medea-Revolution-BR-Gravity-Feed-Airbrush-Internal-Mix-R2500-/131049126455?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e8322fa37 and thats about what I paid for mine.

I found one that looks similar to the strike king square bill but I am not sure on the size. I will keep an eye out for the Mirrolure 17MR or Rapala Twitchin Rap KO's. Thank you for the suggestions though.

I would recommend a gravity fed airbrush and an oil less air compressor as big as you can afford. I have a Iwata Revolution BR that seems to be able to do almost anything. I started out with a little 3 gallon pancake air compressor but it would turn on and make a ton of noise every 15 minutes. Now I have a 33 gallon upright and I can fill it once and spray for 3 hours at night. My uncle does taxidermy and he uses badger airbrushes but he has to spray at about 40 psi and the gravity fed that I have can spray at about 7 psi for fine detail and 20 psi for fast coverage.

Router / Router Table Combo Recommendations?
tekoutdoors.co replied to muskyslayer96's topic in Hard Baits
If you want a really high quality one you will be looking at about $400 to $500 bucks. They have some for about $115 on http://www.mlcswoodworking.com/ that seem to be pretty good quality but not cast iron. www.rockler.com also makes some nice ones. In my opinion you cant beat cast iron but wood ones have been good to me over the years. -
Does Anyone Know How To Get This Effect?
tekoutdoors.co replied to tekoutdoors.co's topic in Hard Baits
Thanks for the suggestions guys I will try a few different options if the angle spray one does not work. I used to have time to paint every night now I have small kids and no time. If I figure it out I will post how I did it one here. His work is what got me into this and then I found this site and it got me even more excited with all the cool things you can do with baits. Now to find the time... -
Let us know how that works I am thinking of making a new vacuum former out of a metal popcorn can and trying to make a craw stencil. I will try and make a video sometime when I get this built because I have vacuum formed before but not just one sided like most guys seem to do. I have done the whole bait at once.

I was thinking of trying this but I can only come up with a couple of different ways to try to make this cool scale pattern. 1st: Use a dark painted bait with scale masking to get the dark scale pattern and then when I am finished with it cut out a stencils that would match the diamonds and highlight the back side of the diamond with white. 2nd: Paint the bait white then put on the scale masking and spray the bait angled toward the front to get the white to stay on the back side of the scales. Not sure if that would work or if anyone else knows what I mean. I have done scales before but never to this level.

I have used that thin plastic from hobby lobby for little details on my baits but if you are vacuum forming I would go with clear milk cartons. They are kind of a pain to cut out but when you heat them and turn on the vacuum they work great. White milk cartons were horrible for this.

Hey guys I have a bunch of cranks and I want to get into more unpainted baits that are good quality. It has been some trial and error but I found a couple companies that carry very nice looking and running stuff. I know one of the companies is the same as dakotalakestackle because I worked with the guy and we used to sell them seperatly but buy together. I would like your input to what kind of baits you guys are looking for and if you want I will throw a discount to all you tackle underground guys with a coupon code. Thanks for the input in advance, TEK Outdoors www.tekoutdoors.co

I used to vaccum form and I used the clear milk jugs for it. It forms very nice. I tried the white ones but I didn't like the outcome.
-
I have done this before and I had to make a stencil for those lines like that. Very time consuming when I made the stencil.
