No I have always used 25% future shine, 25% water, and 50% paint.

Great looking bait! Where did you get the eyes for that bait? -
I used to use the mesh that you buy at hobby lobby but switched to the bath thingy it much less harsh on the paint when removing it and putting it on. That mesh at hobby lobby can scratch your paint sometimes. I also heard that mosquito netting works great I just have not tried that yet.
