    Perch shaped jerkbait

The bench vice was used to keep firmly jerkbait in the desired position meaning at the angle. And like you said, the holes were drilled approx 2cm into the body and epoxied in. For the spikes, sea fishing line 1 mm in diameter was used.

These spikes are just for esthetic purpose and they made outusing the sea fishing line.

Lure is 17 cm in length and weight approx 125 grams. It has nice and wide glides side to side.
  11. Hi Mark. Thanks for evaluation. First of all, the jerkbait was covered by white colour.Next step, the mesh was attached very very tightly for the aim to keep whitecolour unpainted during the following airbrushing. Hence, after airbrushing youhave scales and colour between scales (in my case, this colour is white) ingood contrast. Later on, the stencil was used to airbrush side bars. And afterthis to soften side bars, I used very transparent airbrush paint the samecolour as side bars’ colour, Then you airbrushing, there is no immediate colouron the surface, but after while the colour comes out. And due to transparencyof colour, you can keep colour between scales visible. I hope this answeredyour question... Best, Ed

    Foiled jerkbait

Hi. I will try to explain… So, you need a net, which we are using to paint scales, to lay on the even and hard surface like a table. Next, the foil should be laid on the net. And, I am using wet tissue that should be laid on the foil. So, the sandwich should look like – net on the table, the foil on the net, the wet tissue on the foil. Finally, rolling pin should be used to obtain scaled-pattern-foil. You should act with the rolling pin in the way while pressing it on the sandwich down roll it several times forth and back. I hope I have answered your question. One remark – it is up to you witch surface of scaled foil to use because both sides look grate. Best, Ed

    Drying wheel

Hi. Thank you for advice. Actually, I was thinking to place something like drip catcher and finally I decided to use the same board as we use in the oven. Thanks again. Best, Ed

    Drying wheel.JPG

Hi. I was using software called AUTOCAD to build a drying wheel. It is easier to build an item, than you have a proper drawing. I used FSF plywood as material to construct drying wheel. Band saw was used to cut the right details. Regarding the bushing, I used bushings from the old tape recorder and particularly these bushings were used as support for pulleys, if I am right with the word. And the axes that are inserted in the ‘all-thread-metal-stick’ were taken from the same pulleys. I hope I have answered your question. Best

Today is birthday of my drying wheel. Small creature dedicated to spin eight hardbaits at once.
  19. Interesting, if you know where mass centre is. I have done search and decided to present information for your judgment. At the light of this day, various materials are used to build a hardbait – foam, wood, casting resin, plastic, and silicon and so on… So, everyone knows what solid body (hardbait) has a geometrical centre and a mass centre. These two centers are different and mean different things. The geometrical centre (here and after – GC) means the centre of hardbait without any hardware (meaning only naked blank) and the position of geometrical centre is shown as ‘cross’ sign in pictures. The centre of mass (here and after – MC) means the mass centre of hardbait with hardware and indication is shown as ‘crossed circle’. I guess, the conclusion is – if these two magical centers are known, hence the prediction of behavior of hard bait could be done keeping in mind distance and location of GC and MC to each other… If someone has experienced or dealt with these centers, would be nice to know your know-how. Best, Ed
  20. Another interesting point of view to the architecture of hardbait. Russians are crazy builders of hardbaits as well. Here two photos… The first one is x-ray of from top to bottom - CWC Buster, Salmo Slider and Rapala Glidin' Rap. The second photo - same Salmo Slider but surgical intervention. Best, Ed
