  1. Still looking for an O ring supplier. Any specific help would be appreciated
  2. SU sells Boss Skirt Collars that look and feel like rubber O rings. Anyone using O rings from a parts house ?
  3. I can't tell from the picture where the blade is bent. Can you elaborate a bit?
  4. I really like the Loc-Tite super glue gel in the blue squeeze bottle and the WTF self adhesive 1/4 inch eyes. I did a search but could not find advice on best place to buy both. Thanks
  5. I did finally get the purple on very thin on the 1/2 oz FB jigs and see some effect. But the result is not what I could call satisfactory. The base color works well for swim heads, though.
  6. Not according to instructions. Base coat, then the "candy" color. I will experiment some more, but wanted to share my experience with the product. I like some of their other colors
  7. What colors does Spike-it have that are not on the website? I am almost out of Purple-Smoke and need several Green Pumpkin variations (light-to dark & brown to green)
  8. This requires a "foundation" coat that is applied to a a heated jig and baked for 10 minutes. Then the next color goes on and is baked. I tried it last night and the foundation coat looks great. It separates into black & silver spots. But the top color completely covers the foundation. Even where I managed to get the top coat on very thinly, it looks NOTHING like the picture. I intend to contact them about this and see what they say.
  9. As Big Will says, just dip them. I knock the paint out of the back hoop before baking or try to stay just short of the back hoop with my paint.
  10. small holographic glitter?
  11. Sorry about that. Inbox is cleaned out now
  12. I have noticed that a lot of the skirts I buy, lately, smell like gasoline. Whats up with that?
  13. +1 on the problem with 90 degree corners and mixing/flow. We have designed a few of our own industrial coating mixing systems and have had very poor results with squared corners for a reservoir
  14. It looks like a great improvement of an already groundbreaking system.
  15. Here is a video of it in action
  16. Carolina Mike has experience from small to XL and has a lot of current knowledge about high production systems. He might be the man you want to communicate with.
  17. The system does have a manual stirrer in each reservoir and it held the temps very well. As Mike pointed out, this is not a high production setup, but it easy for me to use and I am happy with it so far. I had to replace a couple bolts that hold the guide pins. I think they were bent in shipping. I will probably change the thumbscrews that stop vertical travel. They get hot during use so I will look into something with a more heat resistant handle.
  18. Could I get a link for where you guys buy the wire?
  19. I used the Jacobs Baits Pro Series Injection Press for the first time last evening and today. I am very happy with it. This is the link, in case you are not familiar; http://stores.jacobsbaits.com/injection-press-pro-series/ I only fired up one side, but ran three (3) different colors through and it was flawless. I made 4 cups of plastic per batch in the microwave and added it to the pre-heated reservoir. I set the temp at 300 and it was rock steady. When the reservoir was empty the air pressure blew the nozzle clean and I made the next color. All colors were clear or white and I had no discoloration from start to finish. This is an expensive system, but clearly the best I have used or found. Making 50 to 100 baits in a batch is perfect for me and once the plastic is in the reservoir there is no smoke.
  20. For my use, soft is what I want. It is one of the primary reasons I got into pouring my own baits. I don't mind ripped up baits if it increases my catch rate. Having said all that, you might want to consider a medium plastic. Otherwise try 1 teaspoon of hardener per 6 oz of soft plastic and adjust from there.
  21. SJ gave you the straight skinny. The angle fittings would be great to reduce waste as the pots get low. Remember, as the volume in the pot decreases there is less head pressure, meaning you need to slow down when filling the injectors to avoid pulling in air. I just sold my SS system because I bought a Jacobs Pneumatic System. As long as you have good ventilation you will love the Bears SS system.
  22. Thanks, SJ - now I have to try some Trokar's. You are going to get me in trouble when the CC bill comes LOL I hope you are doing well.
  23. Ahhh, got it. Thanks. I will try the #2's then.
