  1. I see alot of guys talking about automotive clear coats on here and i'm still clueless on how to use them. I've been painting my own wiggle warts and just switched to jerk baits. i have some of the Megabass blanks from bustinbassbaits.com and have painted some up but afraid to clear coat over them. On my wiggle warts or other crankbaits i've been using D2T and it works just fine. i want to put a thinner epoxy on the suspending jerkbaits so they don't sink. I was gonna go to O'Reilly's and buy some automotive clear coat but do i just spread it on with a brush or a spray can? Do i use multiple coats? Do i have to sand after the first coat? Sorry if i sound dumb but the D2T was all i knew about and i'm still new at this whole painting thing
  2. Got my stencils in from lurelayouts.com the other day and snapped a few pics after i put the stencil on. Very easy to clean the paint off and the sizes fit the lures very well. Very pleased with the stencils and will be ordering more. sorry for the quality of the photos
  3. After understanding what has happened, I apologize for the loss in your family and my prayers are with ya'll. I did receive the stencils and they look great. Thanks for the e-mail informing me what has happened and once again I apologize to Rob and the people at lurelayouts.com
  4. It has been one week since i placed my order, my credit card has been charged but on there website it shows the order as still processing. I wouldn't be as upset if they hadn't of charged my card or they would get back to me and let me know what's going on
  5. Sounds like this company is big on the Customer Service side. Bull
  6. Has anyone here purchased from the Lurelayouts website before? i placed an order last week and still have seen it and it shows on there website that there still processing it. I've tried to contact them and can only send an email and haven't heard anything back from them. I was just wondering how someone else's experience with this company was or if you have used/liked there stencils?
  7. thanks for all the info. I sat down last night and knocked some new colors out and after about 4 hours of painting i could tell things were getting a little easier. ya'll are a big help and again, appreciate all the feedback
  8. I have an Iwata Revolution and a small ninja jet compressor that i bought locally and just beginning to paint. I'm having a hard time with putting detail on my lures. I can spray them with a basecoat and then come over the top with the body colors and then i run into problems. I'm using C-tex paint but can't seem to get fine details. LIke a craw pattern for instance, i spray the entire lure white using a krylon out of the can white primer then go back over the lure with a light tan. I then use a darker brown for the top of the crawdad and the paint wants to bead up and then run if i get the gun too close or if i'm too far away it covers more of the bait than i want too. Am i doing something wrong? the ninja compressor will only go up to about 18 psi if i'm not mistaken. Am i putting too much water in my paint? I'm also trying to get the brown to be not so dark, the paint i'm using is the transparent brown but it doesn't seem too transparent to me. i've attached one of my wiggle warts that i'm fairly pleased with but that's about 1 in 10. Boy i need to learn some patience to do this airbrushing stuff
  9. I tried wipping the bill down w/ acetone and the orange highlight on the end of the bill never went away, it did seem to eat my bill a little though??? any ideas??
  10. Thanks for the tips. The easiest way I know to differentiate and correct me if i'm wrong but the old warts say "Wiggle Wart" under the bill and the new ones have "Storm" printed under the bill
  11. Also.......is there an easier way to get the orange hue off of the bills without sanding them?
  12. I've just recently got into the whole painting thing and I think what you guys do around here is a huge benefit to people just starting. Anyways, I've just started painting some wiggle warts and squarebills to my custom colors and was wondering what wart ya'll like? I've been using the phantom color craws and sanding them down and painting over them. I don't like the orange hue they put on the end of the bill and was curious if they make blanks or even a clear wart that i can paint over. Thanks for all the advice and info ya'll share. Here's the first one i've painted
