  1. Welcome to TU. A word of caution, this site is as addictive as our hobby.I think I spend more time reading the old posts and trying to absorb all the tips and techniqes than building baits.Dont give up on the crankbaits,it will all come together for you.
  2. Thanks guys, when I get some to swim I will post some pictures.
  3. When building a swimbait should all the segments be equal.Or should they get progressivly smaller.

That is one sweet bait.I bet it would slay river smallmouth.
  5. Gene,I recieved my lures today.I do'nt know what to say. They are all works of art.Now I have to build a display case for them. Thanks for doing this and I hope to be included in the next swap. Bob.
  6. When I lived in oroville cal. the rapala shad rap was killer on lake oroville. We used it for bass and big browns. They were the natural shad pattern and the fished loved them.
  7. Gene,Thanks for taking the time to do this swap.Sorry for the odd ball,I had a problem with the last lure and did'nt have time to paint another one.
  8. Some of my crankbaits run great for three or four casts and then stop working,A few casts later they work again. Also I have some baits that will not run unless you give them a sharp jerk at the begining of the retrieve.I thought it was trapped air,but they do it after I let them sit after the cast.Any insight would help.
  9. Gene,You're right! Give me a silver and black lure any day.Clear to muddy water it will catch fish. But my favorite right now is a craw pattern that I paint. It has a orange belly, chartreuse sides and a dark brown shell pattern. After those two give me a bluegill pattern, they live everywhere and bass eat them more than people think.
  10. Is there a specific place to sign up or is this it.Anyway count me in!
  11. Thanks for the great ideas.I was having a hard time getting my lip slot and eyes right. Now it should be no problem. Thanks again.
  12. Count me in.I would love to trade some of my hand made crankbaits for other hand made crankbaits.Ihope it all comes together.
  13. Rayburnguy is right.Make sure all coats of paint and sealer are dry before you top coat.I use a differnt top coat and had the same problem. Now I heat set each coat and wait one day before I top coat.
