  1. Haha, yeah... maybe i should pour a handful of stick baits in some sort of yellowish colors to imitate the french fries. Thanks for the comments!
  2. Better late than never. Hey guys, i want to show you my latest big bait which i designed from scratch. It is a handpoured craw of about 14 inches (body and claws) and 16.5 inches overall, made for all big predators like big pikes or european catfish. But big Cods will probably love it too. I hope you like it!
  3. Do it the other way around. First the water and then slowly add the plaster and stirr slowly. This creates way less bubbles in the mold. It should be pourable, but like CrabbyBass already said, you don't want it to be too runny.
  4. Yes these infos are a little older but still useful . Some new info about these shops: HT-Baits only rarely sells plastic... most of the time they don't have any. Lureparts.nl is good, but has a fiew colors and you have to check the site every now then for updates. Pear Kunstaas is out of the softplastic-business for some time now (a year)!
  5. You are right, it is called DINP. What's their primary and what's the secondary plasticizer?
  6. I let them cure over night and salt them with fine salt right before bagging.
  7. Why should i tell him to buy somewhere in europe if he is not even sure it would be legal to do so (importing plastisol)? One step after another... I do think buying runners and ship them to europe (even in a flat rate box) would not be the number one choice for him and shipping would cost more than the runners themselves. Anyway, i did not mean to offend you There are shops in germany and the netherlands you could ask for shipping rates to denmark. No there are no other names than Plastisol (soft PVC) and no material that reacts the same way this does. There are differnt 2k-silicones you could try but it's not the same stuff.
  8. Search for "dipping swim baits" by franksrooty2 (youtube)
  9. Andy1976, are you serious? You would buy runners in the US to ship them to Europe? C'mon, really? Anders, before ordering you have to find out more about the import restrictions you mentioned!
  10. Djs, thank you very much! This helps a lot!
  11. ... do you use it, or know somebody who uses it, or do you just know more about it? pros, cons? I am talking about the VPI Paint i stumbled across the other day at iSpikeit. Is there a difference between the well known Lurecraft "soft plastic paint" and this "new" one? Or same colour, just in a different size? Thanks for your help guys!
  12. The more salt you use, the more colour you need + the colour gets more opaque
  13. alright, cool! You are right about the addicting hobbie and i share you enthusiasm! Try developing your own unique softbait! (So you don't have to battle the big companies with pricing or whatever when/if selling those!) "Trade" your baits for something else! E.g. On a fishing trip you bring the lures, and they bring the beer or whatever... that way you are having a good time with your friends, fish your lures and you kind of "sell" your baits... If you need (still want to) you can think again about selling some baits to your friends, as soon as you get consistant perfect results. At that point they should be addicted to your lures anyway... ;-)
  14. You will find TONS of information regarding all your questions using the search function, as almost every new member asks the same questions about "starting business" and marketing the "secret super crazy never seen before" lures. I don't want to offend you, but reading your posts and about the problems you had, you are far far away from "getting into the business"! It just takes a little more, than just a fiew days... also because i am sure you want to go the "quality route". Quality needs time, experience and practice! But to help you at least a little... 1. How to start: create your lure, build a mold (maybe multi cav.) or buy a mold you like buy your softplastic in 5 gal, get into production, sell your product to your friends 2. What gets patented: Nothing! (use the search function and you soon will know why. there is plenty of valuable information about it) 3. About the aluminium mold: Buy the mold you want, pour your lures, name them, sell them.
  15. you must be kidding... 20$ for your lure or the same type of lure sold by a known company?
  16. Absolutely catching fish on something I made!! (That's the reason why i don't like copying existing baits.)
  17. Got mine yesterday and it's great! Thanks!
