  1. Hey Pete: Pop-rivets is what I used to make recessed eye sockets for a round head mold. Just drilled the proper sized hole required for the rivet all the way through the mold, used a pop-rivet gun and presto, a permanent recessed eye socket that I don't have to worry about. Later GeorgiaBlade
  2. Been fishing for forty years and there is no doubt in my mind that big baits catch big fish. But, if you are looking for a quick limit for the live-well in a tournament, smaller baits can be very successful especially after a Shad spawn or any kind of spawn. From late winter to late spring many different types of fish are spawning and the fry are very easy prey. Match the hatch and let the fish tell you what they want comes to mind. Later---GeorgiaBlade
  3. Since backed Powder paint is very slick (slippery) the glue of stick-on eyes will not adhere very long after it becomes wet. For yeas now, I have been using an electric eraser to burnish (rough-up) the Powder paint in the recessed eye sockets. This allows the glue of the stick-on eyes to adhere much better and last much, much longer. Just a thought. Later--GeorgiaBlade
  4. Hey Musky Glen: Luv that White SB in the lower left-hand corner. Where can I buy some of that White skirt material and what is that material called. Thanks---GeorgiaBlade Email me
  5. Unless what I am reading is 100% wrong, Flashabou is mylar and it is just a fancy name for mylar that is colored.I love to do research on the web and would love to do some for you, but I need more specifics. The LPO material I suggested to you meets all your specks except that the white is Pearl White. Is that the problem? GeorgiaBlade
  6. Thanks for the tip. I shop their at least once a week and will check it out next time I go. GeorgiaBlade

  10. I have been looking for Gold paint that looks Gold and not some shade of Brown or Tan. Do any of you folks know if such a product exists? GeorgiaBlade thanks you.

Choose from 11 great colors. Each pack contains approx 125 strands of material. 1/16" wide - 10" long strands. 1/4oz packs. The sku is 1937 and is called: LATERAL SCALE FLASHABOU
  12. I use black nickel Mustad hooks in my jig molds. After I pour the jig I use a small hand-held Butane torch to anneal (soften) the metal just enough to bend (using a round nose pliers ) the hook eye open enough to install the chatter bait blade. I then close the hook eye. The trick is to eat the elephant a bite at a time. Apply a small amount of heat at a time and each time try to bend the eye open. You do NOT want to make it cherry red. Another option is to buy the jigs with the hook eye already open so all you do is install the blade and bend the eye closed. These can be purchased from Lure Parts Online - by Stamina Tackle Later GeorgiaBlade
  13. As you may have already found out, not all powder paints act the same way in the air bed. Try mixing in small amounts (about 10% at first) of clear powder paint into the black and slowly continue adding in small amounts until you get the desired effect. Later---GeorgiaBlade
