  1. That thing looks real. Nice job!!
  2. Looks great, sir. Want me to send you some acetone?
  3. I bought some from Bandit. They got the not-so-popular or discontinued colors for $3.
  4. Listen up dude, I know enough about airbrushes to know that you..... are probably right. I took the trigger assembly apart and oiled it. The o-ring seemed to be intact. I put it back together and kept pushing down on the trigger. The air flow finally lessened a great deal but not completely off. Think I'm gonna buy a new assembly and see if that fixes it. Thanks to you and Brent for the diagnosis. BTW, it should be clearly obvious that I know very little about airbrushes.
  5. Brent, I can turn the air off one of 2 ways: 1. Turn the MAC completely off. (as I open it...the air flow gets stronger) 2. Disconnect the hose from the compressor or the gun.
  6. My gun is now shooting straight air. No stopping it!!! It'll shoot paint if I pull the trigger back, but, the air will not shut off. I'm guessin' the MAC valve has crapped out?

Mad skills. All your work is true art.
  8. About a month ago, I bought a lot (25) of balsa jerkbaits from an e-bay seller in Japan. Apparently, I didn't read the description very well. I thought they would be bigger. They're only 3 1/2" long. I was planning to paint them for my saltwater buddies, but, they are entirely too small for redfish. I was planning to re-post them on e-bay to recoup some of my money. Should I paint them in bass colors, or, post them as is. They are sanded and sealed and look really nice. I'm just not sure if I'll be any better off painting them. What would y'all do? Thanks
  9. This is true. I just shoot a couple of drops of yeller into some white, stir it, and adjust from there. A little yeller goes a long way.

    I like it, BoPA.
  11. I "soaked" the thing for 12 hours in Createx Airbrush Restorer. There were some tiny particles in the bottom of the cup. I hooked my hose (without the gun) to my compressor and it blew free and clear. But, when I attach the gun...it spits and sputters. I bought an extra needle and nozzle when I bought the gun. I installed them with no change. Since I never had this problem until a few weeks ago, I'm ruling out the possibility of paint viscosity. I'm using the same paint since day one. Since some of my paints are part of my initial shipment, I thought that maybe I was squirting dried particles in the cup every time. But, appears to me that the restorer would clean that up. Could the MAC valve be the culprit? What else is there inside that could cause this problem? Yes, Ben...you are correct. My maintenance practices are a little lacking. Anyway, I appreciate you guys tryin' to help me solve this mystery. After all...y'all are the ones that got me into this mess.
  12. Which is more practical? Change parts: needle cap, nozzle cap, nozzle and needle = $60 give or take... or Buy another Iwata HP-CS = $215 give or take? This doesn't include the MAC valve, but, I don't think that's my problem.

    Them looks good, Mr. Bob.
  14. Marc, have you tried Jim at www.predatorbassbaits.com?
  15. Joe, that's a school trout bait. Looks great.
  16. I have an Iwata HP-CH. When I pull the trigger, there is zero air going into the gun. I took the trigger mechinism apart and didn't find anything abnormal. Air is coming through the hose but stops at the gun. Any ideas?
  17. Anybody familiar with "Day Glo Pink" #G82002? It's on Dick's new webpage.

That's the way I do all of mine. (roll eyes) Wish they turned out like that.
  22. This is why I never tried this approach for topwater baits for speckled trout and redfish. It just didn't make sense to me that the hookup ratio would not suffer. Guys along the Tejas coast use it, but, I don't think they are being fully honest with their findings. With the positioning of their mouth, a redfish has a hard time with a topwater bait to begin with. Taking away 2/3 of the hooks cannot improve hookups....not on that species.
