  1. Anybody know how to remove the packing nut, etc. inside an Iwata Hi-Line CH? Thanks

    repaints

I like the craw (bottom left). The others look good, too.
  3. Well, the ones I got from www.lurelayouts.com do not need to be clamped, clipped, etc. I just cut a piece big enough to stretch over the back and halfway or so down the sides, pull it tight at the bottom, and, you have an almost exact shape of your lure. Just make sure you do this on an unpainted one and then transfer it to the bait you're working on. They work pretty well, IMO. Good Luck.

    Shad muskie bait

All of 'em are great, but, this is my fav.
  5. I've had the same thing happen with scratching the paint. If you'll take an identical unpainted blank and mold the scale to it...then, you can just slip it over the painted one.
  6. I've timed mine @ 2 rpm and it does a good job. Lures come out perfect. I've done as many as 10 at one time.
  7. Every bait I do comes out looking something like this.
  8. Congrats, Gene. Hope it's filled with what you enjoy doin'. On a side note....how many of you guys are retired?
  9. I think you are within the boundaries of ethics.

    copper

A little patina would add a nice touch.
  11. Mr. Ben of Rayburn gave me a lil hint a while back about applying epoxy. He said to exhale for a few seconds onto the bait after the coat is applied. I sure can tell the difference between now and before. For one thing...my coats are clearer. Before, they were kinda cloudy...I guess from air bubbles. Anyway, it works for me. Since we're on the subject....what type of businesses carry denatured alcohol...hardware, paint, grocery? Also, where can I get one of them scales that Mark mentioned, or, is it really necessary? Although I've gotten better at applying epoxy....I'm still a little nervous about my measuring technique. Thanks
  12. You have permission to copy your punkinseed pattern and send it to me.
  13. I got some of yours in my photobucket.
  14. Not a problem here. Nobody would want to copy mine.
  15. Thanks, guys, for your response. After phoning Ben, I think I have my problem fixed. After soaking the front of the brush in Acetone overnight with no results, I drove 55 miles (one way) this morning to buy some Createx Airbrush Restorer. After a two hour bath in that stuff....my airbrush started coughing up some of the first paint I shot through it (3 months ago). I am now a believer in thoroughly cleaning my brush after every use. Thanks, Ben, for the tip.
  16. If you're going to epoxy the lure after painting, you can spray the foil with an aerosol acrylic and use a wet q-tip to remove the overspray. This stuff is not designed for a final coat on a fishing lure, however, but, it will seal the foil for ya.
  17. Anybody used the Createx Airbrush Cleaner? I got a jug of it and thought I'd try it as a last resort for this major stoppage I have. I've already tried Acetone with no luck. Gun won't spray nothing but air and the needle is sticking in the open position when I let go of the trigger. I have an Iwata Hi-Line HP-CH. I am about to order something else.
