  1. I will never tell my customers that these "Kajun Kraws" are invisible to the bass they're tryin' to catch.
  2. saltwater, I doubt you'll convince the "Rayborn Red" guys.
  3. I heard about this thing called a Wiggle Wart. They claim it works.
  4. 21xdc, you turn your lures after dipping?
  5. Well, I guess I'm just a sucker they made a pitch to sell the thinner to me.
  6. top dawg, I wouldn't waste money on the bloxygen, but, the thinner is almost a must. You can use common lacquer thinner to clean/soak your brush or clean your airbrush, but, I wouldn't use it for thinning. I did thin it once with lacquer thinner before I knew about the recommended #1 thinner. Honestly, I could not see any difference, But.....
  7. I've caught as many reds as bass on Mann's Baby 1- Minus. Nice look'n work there, man.
  8. Bob made an excellent point in one of his earlier comments about lightly sanding epoxy before coating with anything else. I scuff any type of clear coat before I add another coat...epoxy, KBS, doesn't matter. It will allow the next coat to adhere much better.
  9. Man, I'm just mind boggled about why a moron like me seems to be doing everything right and so many others seem to be struggling with, what appears to me, to be a fool-proof product. Honestly, I have given this stuff every opportunity to fail. I've applied in temps that were not recommended and, down here in S. Louisiana, there aren't many times when there is low humidity. I've dipped lures when I had to close the shop door to keep the rain from blowin in. It's to the point where I'm baffled.
  10. Salty's, would you and Mcleod please post a pic of the product you're using?
  11. Here's what a drastic change in temp will do to the finish on a wooden lure. Oops, pics didn't take.
  12. When I dip n hang a lure...I don't get puddles!! Where does the stuff puddle on a vertical lure? I dipped a topwater lure yesterday that had deep eye sockets. I was hoping the KBS would stay and harden in there so they wouldn't be quite so deep. No such luck...it ran out and down the lure to the floor. The only time I thin KBS is when I notice it getting a lil stiff after repeatedly opening the jar. I then thin it 20% with "#1" thinner...as Phil noted. I don't try to crowd too many coats in a given period of time, but, I have dipped as many as 3 times in a 12-hour period without a single issue. Had I dealt with all these problems...I would have surely scratched KBS from my list of things to do. But, like I stated earlier....how did I ever make it without it?
  13. I've been using KBS for a couple years and, honestly, I don't know how I ever made it without it. I feel quite confident that the lures I've done during this time are more durable than the ones done prior with other products. I've tried DN and several auto finishes as clear coats and none of 'em stack up to KBS...for one reason or another. It's ease of use should be illegal. I'll be glad to answer any questions anyone may have. If you haven't tried this stuff...you're missin' out.
  14. Damn, Mark...I know nothing about lure building, but, found that interesting. Good job.
  15. Not nearly the storage issues, Nathan. Without it I would have to find another hobby.
  16. OK guys, I gonna say it one more time..... K B S
  17. tekflip, I guess that would depend on what is floating around in that air. Createx? Maybe. An automotive urethane....NOT ME!!
  18. BIGCREW, my wife said somebody was goin through our garbage cans at the end of the driveway the other day. Hope you found something of use.
  19. Does a matte finish stay matte when wet? I would think it'd turn to gloss.
  20. ^^^^^^ What Bob said. Just be thankful it's not a Hi-Line ($45ish). Don't ask how I know.
