  1. If you were using scales and bars on a lure, which do you paint first...the scales over the bars, or, vice versa? Or, does it really matter? Thanks Stan

You're on a roll, Bruce. Nice job.
  3. That's more than likely an oil-based marker. Acrylic is water-based. Any topcoat that you use over that Sharpie (lacquer, polyurethane, moisture cure, etc) is going to melt it.....unless the topcoat is water-based. Like I said, I've sprayed all kinds of stuff over them just to try to dissolve it....with no luck. Haven't tried water, tho.
  4. Acrylic Sharpies are untouchable. I've sprayed all kinds of stuff over 'em tryin' to melt 'em.

Man, it's all about the eyes. Great lookin' bait.
  6. Mark, have you had a problem with yellowing, or, is it water-based?
  7. Not at all. That is good stuff you wrote.

Nice work, Bruce. Which blanks are those?
  9. I got a kit of that brand, but, it's 5 minute. I've used it to glue stuff around the house and it really holds.
  10. Thanks for not sayin' "I told ya so", Bob, because you did. I didn't know not to let it drip back in the can, tho. That might sound petty, but, it certainly makes sense. I've learned from this experience. If $25 is all it costs...I can handle that.
  11. Okay, guys...I've had this Garco urethane for a few weeks now. I've used it a time or two just experimenting. I opened the can tonight and noticed that it has formed a skim on the surface. I thought, Rut Row! I punched through the film and the stuff below seemed to be the same as it was when I first got it. With it skimming over, does this mean that it is no longer any good? Thanks Stan
  12. X 2 on Papilio. Great guys. Professional service. Always been helpful in answering any questions for me. Fast shipping and, btw, pretty good product, too.

    Them's purty, Bob.
  14. So far, my presentation is not my problem, but, I keep pluggin' (pun intended) along. Dave, you guys are absolutely right, tho.
  15. I placed my order this weekend. Through an e-mail, Rob said for me to call him. I did and we talked 30-40 minutes discussing every detail of my order. Custom orders can be iffy (at best) without seeing the layout, but, I sent in a drawing of the lures I wanted to stencil and Rob and Michelle worked from there. Even though I have not seen them, I feel confident that it will be as I expected. Looking forward to getting them. I will be sure to post pics. Stan
  16. This thread will self-destruct on December 31, 2011.
  17. This rig would be a killer on the Louisiana coast for speckled trout. Might catch 3 or 4 at a time if you threw it under a set of diving gulls.
