  1. Make sure it's dry before you coat it. I usually stick it in the oven at a low temp (175-200) until I can put my hand on the mold and dont feel any moisture. If you do a search there was a post by vodkaman that had some really good info in it about drying times, I'd post the link but I'm at work right now and dont have time to look for it.
  2. Any large plastics in watermelon red ought to get him bit! Tell him to go check out this website, www.texasfishingforum.com. In the bass fishing section there are Falcon threads almost every day and there are several guides that post there that would be willing to give him some advice. I hear about big plastics, football jigs and 6xd's the most
  3. Thanks for the reply Uma, I'm curious and have a question for you. Does the scent last longer when cooked in? The website says it only lasts about an hour when applied directly
  4. Has anyone tried these? If so can you add it to plastic while cooking or is it strictly for use after pouring?

Saw a preview for icast, megabass is coming out with a crank that has an adjustable bill! Can't wait to see this one!
  6. So I placed an order monday for 500 bucks worth of molds from BT, got an email this afternoon informing me of a 20% off sale for the 4th of July. Called Sarah up and asked her if I could possibly apply the discount to the order I made Monday. She set me up with a coupon code for the difference, I can't say enough positive things about the good folks at BT, time and time again they have gone above and beyond to help me out!
  7. This is what I use as a "barb" It's just a single strand of weedguard bent in half, wrapped and tied with braid and super glued. It works very well for me.
  8. My first two questions would be what mil bags are you using and are you curing your baits before putting them in bags?
  9. I agree 150% Ben! For me fishing is a way of life and it tears me up to see people mistreat fish. My grandfather taught me to fish at the ripe age of 4, and very time I see someone abusing any type of wild life I want to punch em in the face and yell "how will our kids and their kids ever get to enjoy this if we don't take care of what we have?!" People dont understand how long it takes a bass to reach trophy size and what they have to endure to get there. The only scenario in which I ever take a knife to a fish is when I have to do it to eat or it's recommended by TPWD. I had a conversation with a warden once and he explained to me that it actually helps the lake to take the small ones out, and this is why slot limits are put in place. Personally I still don't like to take em even when they are dinks but by doing so I am trying to help the lake I'm fishing. Any other time I'm strictly CPR. If there's anything I can do to help you with your mission let me know!
  10. Awesomesauce!! You'll always remember your first, just wait it only gets better! No feelin on earth better than watching your co or another boat throwin store bought lures the "same" as yours and you're whackin em and they can't buy a bite! Congrats!!
  11. +1 its where I buy all of my skirts
  12. That looks pretty darn good Mark! I'm anxious to see how it swims!
  13. Had a pretty good weekend @ Ivie on memorial day weekend, lots of 4's and 5's mixed in with a bunch of idiots out on the lake. They seemed to be biting just about anything with red flake in it and what made it even better for me was I caught her off stuff I made myself! Weighed in at just over 10, doesnt quite look it in the pic because my hand was on its belly but if you look closely I think it shat itself when I set the hook lol
  14. Thanks for that vid Rixon, I know how I'll be doing mold boxes from now on!

Awesome job, the colors really pop!
  16. Change to a .3 and on the netting I find that several light coats with heat sets between coats produces the best scaling effect. As far as psi I usually shoot around 20-30, just play with it until you get a light consistent coat
  17. +1 for Zeiners! Ordered some molds from them, not only where they cheaper than everywhere else but it shipped out the same day. I was very impressed and will continue to order from them!
  18. What specifically about the hot pot would only cause one cavity at a time to fill? As I said before I use the same process on all my molds and this is the first time I've had this problem
  19. So I bought both sizes of the snootie mold and sat down last night to attempt my first pours with them. I kept having problems getting all the cavities to fill all the way. And I always flux the %&*$ out of my lead, the cavities are sprayed with a good coat of drop-out and I preheat my molds by sitting them on top of my hot pot while it warms up and this process usually works pretty well for me. I realized that only one cavity a pour was coming out complete so I tried just pouring one cavity at a time and it worked. I was able to pour all 6 cavities and they filled great but I could only pour one cavity at a time. I have never seen this in any of my other molds, any suggestions? Also I have a question regarding hook sizes. I had some owner 5304's in 4/0 and could only get them to fit in the 1/4 cavity, the eyes were to small to fit in any of the others. So what size hooks should I get in the 5304 for these molds? I primarily intend to use the 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 cavities. Thanks in advance guys
  20. Good luck, sent a pm to and still havent heard back
  21. I use pourasol medium on my 702 mold and I don't get any dents in the claws. When the mold gets hot the claws have trouble filling though. Heat is definitely an issue for this mold IMO. When I first got it I was pre heating the mold a little and the claws wouldn't fill at all. Stopped preheating and started "cold-pouring" and it fills great every time. Love my 702!
  22. Are you willing to split the twinjector from the molds? If so I'd be interested
  23. Anyone got a good mix for a baby bass with createx?
  24. Thanks jbaj007 that video was exactly what I needed!
