  2. Yes, I am glueing bucktail's thread. It will be great it you tell me how to make a glue . Thank you
  3. Are have double blades on inline spinners any advantages for salmon fishing? Single Mepps "Flying C" #5 are very popular for salmon fishing. As I could read from forums double bladed inline spinners are using basically for musky or pike fishing. Any experience with salmon?
  4. Thank everybody for good advices! I am starting that topic because as I know fish is very sensitive to odors. It could fill a single molecule of substances from long distance. So, different unnatural smelly solvents like acetone or similar used in the nail polishes could probably decrease the biting rate.
  5. I am looking for good natural glue for bucktails. It should be without unnatural scents. Probably the best is the fish glue, but it has low water resistance. Any recommendations? Thank you
  6. Clevises like http://www.ifish.net/board/attachment.php?attachmentid=57362&d=1350090045 have at least one advantage: blade doesn't stack between wire shaft and lover part of clevis. Any ideas about tools for winding that kind of clevises? Pliers making job but slow and not convenient. Thank you

    Latex Tubing

Hi everybody, I am trying to mimic the Mepp's Flying C and have a problem to find latex tubing with thin walls similar to tubing using by Mepp's. All colorful tubing I could find has thick walls that hard to work with and increasing lure's body diameter too much. May be somebody know the appropriate source? Thanks.
  8. Check also :"Self Maden Clevises for spinners": Clevis #2 looks the best Самодельные Clevises Хомутики для вертушек PavlentiyTep33 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yLRy0DJxZ8&feature=player_embedded
  9. It is Russian websites, but everything understandable from illustration. Russian fisherman for long time had no access to foreign markets and developed a huge experience in the hand making lures. So, it could be useful. (How to make Lures spoon bait) http://www.xn----7sbbhtm5a7e.xn--p1ai/ba.
  10. Also Eastwood Kawasaki Green $16.99/8oz
  11. Try Eastwood Fluorescent Hot Green or Lime Green. They are looking like chartreuse. Price is about $6.99/4oz for first and $9.99/8oz for second.
  12. I've not grasp an idea of yours design. What do you mean "front hook"? Is it located before body or blade? What a sequence of parts on the wire? Thanks
  13. May be it is a problem. Fresh, recently painted jig could have some odor that fish doesn't like. Or too vivid color looks not naturally (or like poison tropical fish). Just guess...
  14. IMHO stirrup clevises have one problem: sharp outstanding edges. The blade sometimes turnes over and stuck between edge and wire after casting and doesn't rotate.

  16. Why in that case the best Aglia and another Mepps lures (the best from the best) using strictly folded clevises on the wire?
  17. IMO, paint blades are a waste of money, unless you let is rest to the bottom. When spinning you can't see it and it actually reduces the flash. Mepps on the Flying "C" spinners using three color painted French blade. That lure one from the best for salmon!
  18. If prices for everything going up, why fishing staff should be an exception? When people stop buying, prices will collapse, but I don't believe that fishermen stop fishing and buying there tackle. Creating a "new" product (the same or sometimes worth quality vs. "old") it is one from many ways to raise prices level. Good sample of that trick it is Russian vodka. Initially it was Moskovskaya - good wheat product. First step - decreasing of quality Moskovskaya and initial (good) Moskovskaya get the label "Stolichnaya". ( For higher price of course!) Through several years quality of Stoly (for Russian consumers) drops again and the best became "Posolskaya" ( means " For Ambassadors) - the same old good Moskovskaya but more expensive, etc...
  19. Jig looks beautiful! Could it attract the bass or turning it off? Only practice could give answer. It could also depend from time of day, lighting, clarity of water, mood of fish, speed of retrieving etc... Good luck!
  20. Yes! What I am talking about. At now it is common practice to call safety pin spinners: "Spinnerbait", but when somebody asking: "Why second blade on my SPINNER doesn't rotate?" I am confused.
  21. There is some misunderstanding between In-Line Spinners and Safety Pin or Overhead Arm Spinnerbait. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinnerbait ) The last one at now usually called just Spinnerbait and it is causing misunderstanding because really both kinds are Spinnerbaits.

  23. If you are meaning conical springs, you could obtain them from broken flash lights - they are using for supporting batteries.
  24. IMHO cutting tip of yours bit is too sharp. ( I mean the angle). The bit penetrating in the lead too fast and stack. If you could make it more obtuse on the soft grinding stone it should help: you will get less flutes especially in combination with oil and frequent flute cleaning.
