I just started painting baits this week. I am stripping down old bodies with sandpaper. I then am spraying with spray cans. I am an artist so the patterns I have little problem with. I did a couple on old Poe's wood bodies , they dried nicely and don't smear when i attempt to do so with my thumb. I painted two plastic baits, the patterns came out nice, but then smeared when I rubbed my thumb on them. Am I not permitting enough time to permit them to dry, or do I have to use a primer?
