I am looking to add some new rod/reel combinations to my bass fishing arsenal and was wondering if prices typically drop in the late fall, winter time? Being as that is the "off season" most sporting good stores mark down prices on there stock of lures and rods/reels, do websites also typically drop there prices on this stuff? Also, it seems many big producers of reels and rods introduce there new lines in the fall or winter, so then older or some discontinued models may go down in price? Didn't want to fork out a good chunk of change on new equipment if the prices were likely to go down in a month or two!!

I've had great success with every "Bang" attractant that I have used on my baits, but I've read in multiple places about different ways to apply them to my baits. I have always just sprayed my baits (crankbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits, and all of the plastics) with one of the "bang" attractants (usually crawfish or pure craw for my plastics and the shad or anise shad on crankbaits and what not) after tying them onto my pole, just prior to use. But more and more I've read on forums and reviews that when it comes to using the attractants on soft plastics, it's better to put some of the attractant in a ziplock bag with the plastics and let them soak for a night or whatever amount of time. Even when I simply spray my lures and plastics with these attractants, they still seem to smell days, and in some instances, weeks after application. I don't want to "soak" my worms and other plastics in the attractant for whatever amount of time if it isn't going to be much more effective when using because it would seem to be a waste of the attractant. Any thoughts on this matter? And if you do believe its better to use the ziplock bag method to "soak" the plastics in the attractants, how long should it be done for? Thanks!!

As you will be able to tell by my "rookie" type of question, I am new to the whole concept of shaky head fishing. I bought some of the regular "Arkie Shaky Heads 1/8oz" jigs from my local dept. store and I am not sure what the wires going through the eye of the jig are for?? Is this a way or option of making it weedless? The only shaky head jigs i've used so far have had the spiral lock type of system on the jig head to help keep the plastics straight or what not. If anyone could explain to me how to use these jigs, I would greatly appreciate it!! Doubt i'll have to great of luck with them if I don't rig them the correct way haha. Sorry this is such a stupid, rookie type of question, but from what i've read and experienced so far with this technique of fishing, it is a good way to add some more bass to the livewell!!
